Question re M&M treat thing I saw....
I saw celephane tubes with a stamped tag on top (from Falling Leaves I think) on Splitcoast filled with fall colored M&M's. Cutest thing I've seen lately. Trying to find the tube shaped bags. I've seen test tubes recently, but think the paper version might be cheaper. Anyone know where I could find the bags? They were about the size of M&M's as it fit them perfectly! Thanks. Great question! Got me to thinking.......
I did a quick Bing search and found these.....I don't think they're exactly what you're describing, but they're relatively skinny and tall.
COMPOSTABLE 2x10" Cello Bags
(I've done business with this company [bags for altered candles] and have been very pleased with their prices and service)
Cello Bags for candy making and More Wholesale Candy from Groovy Candies - Groovy Candies
Says these are great for pretzel rods
Atlanta Cellophane and Poly Bags
I was also thinking that if you could find the cello bags used to wrap cigars in, that may be closer fit.
I'm looking forward to seeing what other suggestions you receive!!
Good luck and blessings,
Kat

Here is a place that was referred from someone who makes these for craft fairs. The 1x8 Ultra Clear "Lip & Tape" Bags are what you need.

Anyone have a pic of the M&M treats that Kay-Kay is talking about? I searched in the gallery, but couldn't find anything. They sound really cute, and I'd love to see them.

I am assuming that she's referring to something like what's shown in the third photo of post #4027 on this thread.

for anyone who hasn't seen the verse, I think also using M & Ms for a get well
little cheer me up verse:
A SOOTHING TREAT
Each color is a different cure; of this fact, we're very sure.
When you're grouchy and a little mean, we truly recommend the green.
For times when you are feeling down, the very best choice is the brown.
Orange's oh so special coating, will help minimize any bloating.
If you have an ache in your head, this will be cured by the red.
Need something to help you be mellow? Take a dose of the yellow.
If anxiety feelings overcome you, eat a handful of the blue.
If your day should come unglued. You'd better eat the entire box/bag!
If you consume the blue ones for yourself, you have fall colors.
Friends have enjoyed this as a cheer me up and it was found by some creative one
on this site.

I get them at Michaels. They are for dipped pretzel rods. Look with the cake and candy supplies.

Also, you can get M& Ms in any color at many candy stores and at Walmart, so these make good treats for school colors too.

I know I'm losing my mind, but somewhere on SCS in the process of reading/answering this thread I saw the M&M 1x8 bags filled with Halloween M&M's with SU stamped tags at the top and they were displayed in a Halloween coffee mug. Does anyone happen to know where that picture might be?
I ordered my bags, too. Thanks for the great idea!

LOL, Loretia.
From your description, I knew I had seen it in this thread, too. But it took me a while to find it again because the original link was only on the word "this."

Clearbags.com
I got mine from clearbags.com. They are 1" across. I thought this would be too big but they are the PERFECT size for m&m's. I compared prices and clearbags.com was the best I could come up with. The ones I bought also already have the adhesive strip at the top for sealing. All you have to do is tie a ribbon around the middle and put on a nice tag. They are supper simple to make and sell like crazy.

Beth,
I think that GT Bag Company should give you 1000 of these bags for free with all of the business you've gotten them in the past few days. I ordered 200 of them this morning.

Add my name to your list of "why you should get a discount"! I placed an order, too. Showed your darling candy bags to 2 friends and they're ordering too. Your ideas are so stinkin' cute!
I, too, make cards for Operation Write Home. Great feeling, huh?

I have a question about how you fill these. Do you have to fuss with each M & M or skittle in order to get them to lie correctly, or do they just fall into place? I don't think I'd have the patience to fuss with them too much. Thanks.

I made a funnel-thingy out of a large piece of cardstock. The bottom is just a straw-like piece. It is the length f the bag in just fits inside. The top fans out to funnel shape. I put the bag into a tall ice tea glass, insert the straw tube, pour a bunch of m&m's in and, when its full, pull the straw out. I had to play with the funnel thing for a while to make it just right, but it was well worth the time. Without it you have to put the m&m's in one at a time.

Thanks for this! I probably would've given up after the first batch and never did it again... Great innovation!

No problem. I come from a long line of thing-a-ma-jig makers. My dad could fix ANYTHING and spit and chewing gum hold together what I can't jimmy-rig. LOL
