SBSC31
This week, and every week in the future we will be posting both a 12 X 12 AND a 8-1/2 X 11 double page layout.
These are designed by Cindy and myself. You will NOT find these sketches anywhere else!! How exciting is that?
You do not have to fill ALL empty spaces with photos, you can stamp, embellish or use your imagination and fill in the blanks! Just make sure you USE THE SKETCH we provide!! You must follow our sketches to be eligible to win the prize this week. If a double page layout is too much for you to do, we will still judge one page layouts that follow the sketch (just delete one page) If you have any questions post them in here and someone will help you. Be it Cindy or myself, or someone that knows the answer
Please click the following LINKS to view the Sketches
12 X 12 Sketch Challenge Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
8-1/2 X 11 Sketch Challenge
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Scan or take a photo or your work, upload with SBSC31 in the keywords, and post it here for us all to see. Please be sure to type SBSC31with NO SPACES. Be sure you use these keywords AND in your title so we can search for judging!
Tip: If you like you can type what your journaling says in the notes section of your upload in your galley. Be sure to JOURNAL somewhere on your page.
Be remember there are no uploads on Sundays, as the wonderful ladies that approve uploads need a day off too!
Have a SCRAP-TASTIC DAY!!!

Hhmmm, I know what you mean Darcy! So much to do, so little time! I have to make time for at least one of these sketches this week; they're great! And speaking of time....that's one of the theme challenges this week!

Speaking of circles...I used my friend's Coluzzle last night. I think that will be what I buy. Comapct to carry and fairly easy to use.

my SBSC31 layout
Oh, I am loving these sketch challenges. I worked on this while my daughter worked on the VSN challenges. Anyway, here is mine and a picture of the journalling (computer) on the tags. My daughter loves loves loves pullouts, so this was great for her album. (And I have to agree with Peggy - woohoo no circles!)

I do my pullouts this way, but I'm sure there are lots of ways to do them - I cut a double slit in my base cardstock that is about 1/8 inch wider than my pullout (two straight lines barely apart from each other to make it a wide slit) Then I cut a 1/2 inch strip of c/s about an inch wider than my pullout and attach it to the back of the pullout. This will keep the pullout from pulling completely out of the slit. Attach a 'puller', (oh the technical terms!) I used a ribbon and a brad for this one, to the other end. I also attach a larger piece of paper over the mechanism on the back side of the base cardstock so that it doesn't catch on the page behind it when it slides in and out. Does this make ANY sense?
I use top loading page protectors in a post bound album, so if you were on strapbound albums I suppose you could do it very similarly, just on the layered c/s instead of the base.
oh my gosh, this doesn't make a lot of sense, but I hope it helps!

Oh, I had to turn the right side of the sketch to fit the pictures I wanted to use. I really liked how it turned out.

Easiest way I have found to do hidden journaling is to put glue on 3 sides of the cardstock forming a pocket. Then you just slide the tag in the side which has no glue. Works for me. Very easy!
Oh, I found you guys from the home page. I was sitting here one day on a Saturday and said lets see what challenges are on Saturdays and there you were.

Alright, I have got to get my rear in gear! Even my SIL has done and posted her theme page (yeah I know a week late for the refer a friend thing!) The only thing I have done is get the pictures for the theme challenge printed. I guess if I don't take Jack to see Curious George tomorrow we can come to my place and I can try to get a pages done! If not I have a 7-3p day on Wed. so maybe then I can do some!
Alright, reminder to myself ... get these pages DONE!!!

Deb I am glad you joined us! This is a very addicting area. The rest of SCS has pretty much been neglected by me in the last few weeks! :(

Thanks for the welcome Darcy...I can see what you mean about neglecting the other parts of SCS...but it is nice to be able to have a chance to scrapbook! After all, I actually started out scrapping, and I was feeling like I was neglecting scrapping by making cards...I guess now I just feel I am neglecting my family because I am doing all this fun stuff on here! LOL!
Oh well, they will get over it!

Same here. I started with scrapping, then did a little cards, now back to scrapping oh and RAK's! so the good thing about my family is that I am single and live with the parentals! They know where to find me if they want me! Which they usually just leave me alone! It is so great!

I ended up using Stampin Dimensionals to lift the square section and slide the tag under, but this sounds like a better way, and I will use it next time.

I'm sitting this week's challenge out. The layouts are great and I'll definately catch up later. Between VSN and stampers club on both days off I have no more time for scrappin'. The layouts are really looking great so far. I am so pleased to see so much more examples of stamping in scrapbooks. I still have lots of stickers and rub ons, patterned paper etc that I'm still using it but am trying to faze out of that style and lean toward stamping. I love the look a lot more but have not found a lot of examples in magazines that show a style I want to strive for. The challenges give me great inspiration and I love to see how the stamps are used. Great job.
I found the challenges right away when I discovered the site. I started the organizational challenge when the last post was at the least a half year ahead of me but I still went with it after that started this challenge. Since Amy and Cindy revamped the challenge it is a lot harder to catch up. I was about halfway done but now I have a lot to catch up. It may never happen now, but I'm not complaining.
