Challenge Title: "Gettin' Glimmermisted Wit It"
Hostess: tiffguam, Tiffany Johnson
Keyword: HYCCT27
Date: Wednesday, October 27th, 2010
The last time I taught a cardmaking class, I chatted with a breast cancer survivor and she shared her story with me. The story of her strength overwhelmingly filled my heart with hope! My mother-in-law passed away a year ago from cancer, so I love to listen to anyone and everyone that's survived and persevered. This challenge is all about their stories. The kinds of tales that get you all misty eyed...
So, here's my challenge for you: Create a card incorporating any spray ink, glimmer mist, or perfect pearls/water combo.
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ***All Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Entries must be uploaded to the Hope You Can Cling To Gallery - not your regular member gallery ***, with the specific challenge keyword, no later than November 7th, 2010 at 12:00 Noon Central Time to be eligible for our fabulous prizes! Post a link to your entry in this thread.
2. You may not combine challenges, but you are welcome to create multiple cards for each challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, HYCCT27, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
4. Please package all challenge entries with an envelope, protected with a clear cellophane bag or clear envelope per entry and mail them to our partner at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to benefit patients being treated for breast cancer and their family.

Thank you for participating in this card drive!

my mother survived for 9 yrs before it came back so I know how you feel...and this yr at the Susan G Koman walk we had over 100 in the survivor strut parade at end....was fab!!
Will H2Os qualify for this, because I don't have any Smooch, Perfect Pearls, Glimmer Mist or anything like that? That's about as glimmery as I can get. I tried using a Sakura stardust pen for the TLC last week but it was no go...

Do the H2Os spray? The challenge calls for any spray ink... So, you could put water in a little bottle, mix with any medium like your H2Os and spritz? You can use an empty cleaning, hairspray, or makeup bottle! All in all, these challenges are all about collecting as many cards as possible! So, I'll be happy if you at least attempt to incorporated a spray I hope this helps!

I'll see what I can do. I have the mini-misters, just have to remember which one has solvent in it! I doubt if I can get much shimmer, but I'll spray away. Thanks for clarifying - when I read the Perfect Pears/water combination I wasn't sure whether that was just brushed on.

Good to know - I will definitely have to improvise as I don't have any spray inks or H2Os. I might just have to use some reinker and some water in a spray bottle.

Can anyone tell me where I can find this stuff at Michael's??? I don't have anything that "sprays" and none of the items mentioned. I would hate not to be able to do this challenge since I've done every other one just because I don't have something to "spray". Where do I find it? What brand? What should I look for?
ETA: Michael's is the ONLY craftstore in my area....I know, it stinks....but that's why I asked about Michael's.
This is the best I can do: Sketchy Chrysanthemums
Even though I'd diluted the H2Os to a strength I'd normally use for colouring, by the time it was spread over the page it looks very faint, but there is a slight shimmer. - I also got a slight spatter effect as the mini-mister got nearly empty.
Thanks for the challenge - I've enjoyed them all and wish I'd had the stuff to do this one properly.

What I did to make my glimmer mist was mix "smooch" with alcohol in a small spray bottle available at Michaels in a 3 pack. I know that Archiver's has smooch. Maybe some other paint medium would mix well with the alcohol and spray in a "glimmery" way. I haven't checked for smooch at Michaels because I didn't have to...

You should be able to find some spray inks by Tsukineko at Michaels in the section that has all the Ranger/Tim Holtz/Ink Pads. I've also seen techniques done with bleaching (spray bleach)! I bet you'll find some pretty cool results exploring various ways to incorporate a spray technique! Hope this helps!

Oh boy! How fun I'd love to help you... Let's see, just add a little bit, I'd say like 1/4 tsp of the perfect pearls, fill it with water, and shake it up! You could even add some drops of re-inker if you have that on hand. Then I would practice spraying it on scratch paper or paper towel. I use old shoe boxes, photo boxes, and plastic bins to spray in that way it doesn't get all over your stuff! Hope this helps Have fun!

I just scouted out the gallery again! I love all the cards and admire everyone that was able to come up with their own spritzes/mists! Some of you used alcohol concoctions, perfect pearls, re-inker...WOW!
