Challenge Title: Walk On By
Hostess: sewsplendistamper AKA Victoria
Keyword: HYCCT10
Date: Sunday, October 10th, 2010
In exactly 9 months I'll be walking with thousands of others in San Francisco for the Avon walk for Breast Cancer. This will be my third year! I train every weekend. And while I walk my mind wanders, I'm inspired by colors I see, shapes of buildings I pass, sounds and smells coming from homes. Today's card was inspired by this darling yellow house and beautiful garden I pass at mile 1 of my 5 mile weekend training walks.
I'd like for you to make a card inspired by some place you walk, whether it's the library, grocery store, or local park. Pick those colors from a favorite tree you pass, or maybe you love the produce section of your grocery store...let your mind wander and your work be inspired.

Hmm - I like best walking along the river or canal, but I haven't a clue how to translate that to a card. I'll have to take second-best and settle for a walk in the park . At the moment the trees are such gorgeous colours.
What a wonderful challenge idea. I participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life this year and walked more than 8 miles during a 24-hour period - your mind definitely wanders, especially at 3 a.m. ;) I will definitely make a card today.
My card is inspired by the mountain beauty that surrounds us! Although I have to be honest and admit I usually ride the ATV and don't walk! LOL We have wild raspberries that grow nearby, so I was inspired by them for this card!
My development is located on a small lake; and, when I walk, it's usually around the lake, into a city park, and through the woods -- a very scenic and tranquil walk. It was almost too easy to come up with this card:
On my bicycle ride this morning I saw acorns fallen all over the ground and whole army of squirrels racing around gathering them up. Guess fall is here for sure. Here is the card inspired by that ride.
Here's my second card for this challenge: Walking for the Cure
Last night as I was thinking about all the millions of people who walk for the Avon Walk for the Cure, I thought of this card to make. Victoria, Thanks for being a hostess, but also thanks for doing the walk, too.
Bev thank you so much! I was able to get five miles in yesterday. Next week gets bumped up to 7. I almost feel guilty how much I enjoy being a member of the Avon Walk lol. Last year I raised $3860 and I'm aiming for $5000 this year. I've even been asked to speak at an introduction meeting to motivate and help the new registrants!

Lovely As A Tree has always been one of my favortie all time SU stamp sets. I love monochromatic cards. This one is Old Olive and River Rock exclusiviely. I embossed and debossed on the cardstock and used a fiskars punch for the edge. I hand punched the scalloped circle with the saying.
Well my mind also wanders as I walk and this day it wondered why I didnt have a camera so I turned around and got it. This was the most beautiful thing I had seen as if the roses were covered in glitter. The pictures I have are way better than what I printed out but I enhanced it with a little stickles.
