Question What happened to the stamp company PSX (Personal Stamp Exchange)? *merged*

Hello -

I came across a PSX (Personal Stamp Exchange) 2000-2001 catalog at a yard sale a couple of weekends ago. I was browsing through the catalog and thought wow these stamps had some much detail in them. I bought the catalog, and to find out that the website on the back cover no longer exists and when I did a google search I could not find any website for this company. The google searches ended in deadends. The only thing I really found was a post by someone stating they were sold in the early 2000's. Does anyone know what happened to this company or who bought them. They had such detailed, amazing stamps. The catalog I bought at the yard sale is all in black and white. I guess if I can't buy them, I can copy the catalog page and use a print of the images, since they are in black and white. Would like to know if anyone has any insight regarding this company. Thanks in advance. Robin

Unfortunately, they are gone. If I remember correctly, one of the big stamps companies bought their designs and are still making some of them, I think it's Inkadinkado, but I'm not positive. Your best best for getting PSX stamps today is Ebay.

Funny you should mention them. I was just thinking this week how much I missed their stamps - they were beautiful!

I also wish they were still around. They had the prettiest stamps. Some of their stamps are now considered colletor by stampers. Some fetch a pretty high price on Ebay. BUT some on ebay are pretty cheap and that is one way to still get them. Once in a while there will be one or two posted for sale in the B/S/T forum.

I miss them, too. My first stamps were PSX, and I still have them all. They had beautiful flowers and birds. Eileen

I bought the PSX American Goldfinch because I saw a card made with it and think I used it maybe 2-3 times. I didn't like the name as part of the stamp, so I cut it off and threw it away!!!!! That was before I knew about masking, so now the value of the stamp is almost nil because of that. Oh well, live and learn :>)

You can also try etsy. They have a few PSX's for sale there as well.

Inkadinkado did buy their line and has started to resell some of the PSX line. My JoAnns has a few.

Funny you mention Inkadinkado, because they are my #1 stamp to buy at a commercial craft store. I think Inkadinkado puts alot of detail into their stamps as well. Nice to know that they might have bought out PSX. I have ALOT of stamps that are made by Inkadinkado. And it is nice to be able to buy them straight through Inkadinkado if you wanted to. Thanks for all the replies. Robin

Default Who Bought Out PSX Stamps?

Does anyone know who bought out the PSX stamp company? I heard it was sold in the early 2000's. I was wondering if anyone knows the company who bought them out. I love their images. Thanks in advance.

Inkadinkado did.

They revived some of the old PSX designs.

Inkadinkado was purchased by EK Success, and EK Success was purchased by Wilton.

Interesting series of events, eh?!

I was a huge fan of PSX, and still own a number of the now elusive and collectible botanicals.

It also shock me to hear that someone is willing to pay that much for a PSX stamp.

My stamping friends, some of them say "surely there must be something else similar on the market for a more reasonable amount of money.....!
The art was was fabulous...... ahhh!

Some of the PSX stamps are still out there and can be found at reasonable prices. just be patient and maybe you'll see something you want!

Default PSX Stamps

PSX stamps are so beautiful -- does anyone know why the company was sold/went out of business?

Also, if you look on eBay or in online stores, PSX stamps are so expensive. Is this because they are no longer in business? Or is there something else special about them?

Thanks in advance!

According to a website that gives updates on stamp companies, PSX is no longer in business.

No idea why they were sold, I'm afraid - nor why Inkadinkado (the company that bought them) didn't keep the whole back catalog!

The reason some (like the botanicals) are so expensive when they come up places like eBay is simply that they have become collectable and like any collectable item, people are wiling to pay what can seem like silly prices for them.

Last summer I bought a whole box of PSX stamps at an Estate Sale! I didn't even know what I had until just recently. The lady that was having the sale said she had never used the stamps - just thought they were pretty! There were also some other brands in the box, but mainly PSX. I got the whole box - about 30 stamps - for like $10.00 Thought that was a good deal. A VERY good deal.

I am another lover of PSX stamps. I think the wreath and the Victorian house might both be worth a bit.

I think the bird feeder...with the cardinal and such might be worth something...and I'm not sure of the angels. one way you can see how much they are going for, is to go into ebay. go to crafts...stamping...then to stamps and accessories. in the search engine, type in the psx and the description, or name, if it's on the stamp itself. see what comes up, it will at least give you an idea as to what they are worth. good luck!! You got a great assortment!!

I checked the PSX gallery thinking they might have been moved to that one but no, they are presenting the same way there. An explanation would have been nice. Maybe they thought you were selling them?

Do not sell your PSX unless you are sure of what they are worth.
Some of those birds and botanical sell for $100 and up and one recently sold on ebay for over $300!!
They are well sought after collectibles.
Actually any large PSX is sought after basically.
My SIL did not know this either until I told her. She has the same one that sold the $300 on ebay. - but I did tell her she can give them to me!!LOL

Anyway - I bought a poinsettia one at a garage sale 2 years ago for 50 cents. I did not know what it was either but i liked it. That stamp is now worth $75

I have 15 of them and I love them all. I can't understand why such a good company went out of business. 7 of mine are the big florals and the impressions I get with them are wonderful. Which one sold for $300? I think there are a couple of poinsettia ones. I have the big one with the 2 flowers on it. I believe the other one is more valuable. I saw 4 of the big florals go for $35 last Sunday and I just sat there watching the auction and doing nothing thinking it would jump to $75 or $100 in the last few seconds, but it didn't. Someone got an amazing deal.

There are quite a few of this stamp on Ebay right now. One coming off in 5 hours, I think the top bid is $6.99 at the moment.

Default Anybody have a link...

Does anybody have a link to an article/information about PSX going out of business? I used to love their stamps and just realized today that they're not around anymore! :(

TIA!

I have a wolf stamp from psx. I love it. I wanted other animal stamps and did a search for psx to see what they had and found out they were gone. So sad.

That's nice to know, I have the pointsettia stamp. And like Julie HRR--quite a few of the botanicals, and the Victorian Santa--which I think is in my gallery. I would never part w/these stamps--I love the detail-so exquisite. I also have the "words"--love, joy, peace and noel. Geeze I purchased these in 1997--when I started this wonderful hobby.
