CT, NY, MA, NH, VT, NJ & ME Shoebox Swap
Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wethersfield PD Community Room
250 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, CT
Do not park in back of the Police Station.
Park in front or in the adjacent shopping plaza.
What is a shoebox swap?
Design a card that can be completed in about 15 minutes.
Complete 2 (one as a sample for your shoebox & 1 for the hostess)
and then make a "kit" for each person, which contains all the supplies to assemble your card, in your shoebox.
Please label all your supplies.
On the outside of your shoebox:
put your name & the name of your project.
In your shoebox put:
your original card sample
your �kits� = all the supplies (pre-cut and pre-punched) needed for making your project for each participant
extras for mistakes (of which I commit daily when stamping)
stamps,
ink,
written/printed instructions for your card in your shoe box and
anything else that is needed to complete your card.
Bring as many kits as we need for participants to complete your card.
***Participation in the SBS swap is required.***
***Participation in the other swaps is optional.***
Separate from your shoebox:
Please bring your completed ATC's or card fronts, if you signed up for them,
your own labeled items for your personal stamping needs,
adhesive (lots of it)
bone folder
paper cutter/scorer
scissors
straightedge
nametag
stamp cleaner and
whatever else you can't stamp without!
Don't forget your camera!
Make and wear a nametag with your name and your SCS name.
There may be a nametag contest so keep that in mind when you�re creating yours.
Please sign up to bring a food item or a case of water.
I will supply paper plates, napkins & utensils.
In lieu of a food item, you may provide a make and take for all.

Shoebox Swap 2? + 2 = 2? (1 as a sample for your shoebox & 1 for the hostess

Card Front Swap # +1 (for the hostess)
ATC Swap # +1 (for the hostess)

I am in! (Not sure for what exactly, yet, but if I could let you know in a bit)
Are the non-shoebox swaps also brought so everyone can make one, or do they run like a regular swap and I just bring my completed items?

Gael....... I'm going to assume Fran will run the "other" swaps like previous gatherings. All other swaps, other than the shoebox project, will need to be made prior and brought finished.
I'm going to watch this one for a bit. I am waiting to hear about the date for my ladies weekend planned with my high school friends. I hope to know the date soon. Sounds like fun Fran, I hope I can make it.

Fran I am so excited that you have decided to put one of these together. As I drove through CT the other day I was thinking about you.
I am subscribing. I have to register for my classes today, and I think that date will work, but I will be pulling my hair out about then. I think it is a week before my finals for my Masters.

Thanks for the info (and planning, organizing, hosting, etc.) I really hope I can be there!
(edited to change # of participants to 20 - in post I quoted - because it has since been updated and keeping it "as is' migth confuse me (and others?) later.

Sue brought up a couple of good points. February 20th is the deadline to sign up, so we have enough time to prepare our projects. Also, by limiting it to 20 we will have time to complete the projects.

March 5th

In my absence I see that Fran has opened up a SBS!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! I will SO be there!! DH will most likely drive me so we'll stay at a local hotel/motel.
Can't wait to see everyone and meet "the boys"!!
I'll do the traditional Shoebox Swap, and bring cut up fresh fruit.
I get to meet Gael and others from SCS - Finally!!
