Default Storing Dew Drop ink pads

There are many threads on various forms of storage but how do you store dew drop ink pads?
Full sze ink pads are easy, distress inks are easy as they stack on top of each other but dew drops, although supposed to stack, collapse as soon as one ink is removed.
Help please.

I like the idea of the clamshell storage...might try that!

My Memento dewdrops were purchased as a set, actually two sets that contain the full line of colors...so I just took the cardboard off, and left them in the trays they came in, and stack those.

I second the Stampendous storage container. Use the thicker one. I was about to order one, when I realized that the tin container my prismacolor pencils came in held the ones I had perfectly. So look around and see if you don't already have a similar container at home. If not, the Stampendous containers are sturdy enough and won't break the bank. ;)

Here' the link for 7 Kid's College fund, they have the best price that I've found: THICKER STORAGE SOLUTIONS from Stampendous

I keep mine in 12x12 plastic drawers from Sterilite. Full size color pads in one drawer, full size neutrals in another, and all of my dew drops, cat eyes, and spots in the last. I find it easier to grab just the pads I need instead of trying to find room on my desk to balance a whole box of them. And I'm far more likely to put them away when they're in easily accessible drawers.

I have one of the small storage units from best scrapbook shelf and I keep my SU cubes in one and the other all my other small cubes, dew drops, and cat's eye pads. I like it because I can pull out the drawer and set in on my worktable.

Since I use mine mostly when "on the road" they are in a small plastic tool box from The Dollar Tree (it's now about 3-4 years old). I think I'd use the three-drawer unit someone else linked if portability wasn't a concern (I use one for office supplies).

Mine are in a decorative glass jar on a shelf. I have different jars for my cats eyes, etc.

Food for thought there girls and many thanks for the replies. At the moment they are stacked in a tidy tray but it isn't big enough now. I need to organise them into chalk ink cats eyes, Brilliance dew drops, Versa Magic dew drops and some Versacolor ink cubes.
I will get there and will have a look at the craft show I'm going to in November.

The dewdrops stand up on end, and they take up less room that way - I have mine in a small drawer unit on my desk.

Thanks Dina. I think this is what I may decide to go with, a small clear drawer unit to go on my workspace as mentioned by you and others.

I store mine like KPHorse does in the large clam shell boxes. I keep them together by shade. All the blues together etc.

I store my mini pads (Cat's Eyes, Dew Drops, spot-type) in empty video cassette cases with posts removed. Have one for each color family & mix pad types. Found empty ones at Goodwill. When I needed more but couldn't find the empties, I realized I could buy them with a movie in for the same price.

Thumbs up Storing small ink pads

I have one of the Art Bin plastic satchels? and store all of them in sections by color, not manufacturer.

Neat discussion. I started storing mine in empty SU plastic boxes from stamp sets. As my collection grew - and I have lots of those little cats eye and mini ink things... I started sorting into various kinds of inks. For example, all of my Brilliance pads are in one container, chalks in another etc. One thing I love about storing this way - is that I can flip them upside down esp for dye inks when they say it is best to store that way. And yet I can easily flip them over to quickly see the colors and what I want to use. If my collection goes above the largest SU container I have = then it is time to purge and part with old ones! LOL

All my wood block stamps are stored in the clear acrylic picture frames that you can buy at Mike's, etc. I use 3 drawer "Isis" carts for storage, and the 9"x12" frames will stack 4 high in two stacks side by side in each drawer. The trays are labeled with what they contain on the short edge so I can quickly find what I'm looking for. My mini-stamp pads are in an 11" x 14" c;ear tray laid out in color groups...so easy to find the right one in a cart that has a small drawer at the top, along with stickles, etc.

I store mine a high side plastic tackle box container, I found at Gander Mountain. I made lables of each color and place them where each dew drops goes so I would not what color they are and added a touch of ink on the paper to see the color.

How do you removed the posts in a Video box?
Thanks

Barbara

I use one of those utility knives with the break-off blades & cut into the posts at the base with the tip of the knife, as best I can, all around to 'score' them at the base. Then I use a needle nose pliers inserted into the post & twist to break/tear them off.

It doesn't turn out perfectly smooth but the majority of the post is gone. It's not that easy & it's not real pretty but I was determined to use these cases for my mini pads as they are the perfect depth. You could probably use sand paper on a block to remove whatever remains & to make smoother. The posts were on the top of the case on the ones I have so all the pads are on a flat surface on the bottom & whatever is left of the post doesn't keep the filled cases from closing.

If anyone has an easier way, I'd love to hear about it!

I store mine in this style of stackable trays. I got them at Joanns. I get the ones that are 4 stacked which are larger. Each one holds 1 dew drop and a dauber. They are wonderful for traveling and the organization is great. Works for me...
