What type of sponging are you looking to do? That will probably determine which sponge you would use. I use the Stampin' Up! sponges, I also use the makeup wedge sponges. Depends on the 'look' you're looking for.

I like the SU sponges. I tried to be "cheap" and get them from the store but found I really like SU's. They are HUGE so I can cut them in fourths and sometimes I even do them in eighths. I also like that they are really soft and don't have as many "holes" in them...I feel like I get a better end result that is smoother looking. I like the little sponge daubers too that fit on your finger but you get a lot more concentrated color with those!
I like the jumbo daubers. They give me a nice soft sponged look. I don't like the small daubers. I guess I must not use it right because I end up with circles no matter how much I sponge off the excess on scrap paper. I also use the SU sponges cut up in pieces.
I don't know if this applies to you but I kept searching for the "right" sponging tool for a long time and only recently discovered that it wasn't necessarily the sponge but the type of ink I was using. The soft gooshy chalk-type inks work so much better (for me anyway) than regular flat dye based inks.
Ditto what everyone else said...for some reason, the Stampin' Up sponges are the bomb! They are inexpensive and large.

I am with you on that one with the chalk inks for sponging.. Love the results.it does work very nicely with the sponges everyone seems to like from SU.
I also use the round sponges that I cut into 1/8ths. I think I got my last batch from Oriental Trading Company, and they were really great! I also like to use the little sponge daubers. I haven't really had any luck using the foam ink blending tool from Tim Holtz. I guess I just don't have the technique down.

I use all 3 of these things. Must be a Cedar Park/Round Rock thing Michelle! The round sponges cut into pieces and the blending tool are my absolute favorite!!! I posted about storing my sponges today here. Gotta LOVE my sponges!
Patter, that is an awesome idea. I, too, love my blending tool and the velcro idea is great. I do use the SU sponges cut into wedges but I find that when using the Distress Inks, I prefer the foam blending tool.

Me too! Isn't it funny that the foam works so well with the distress inks but the cut sponges with other inks? Love the different effects!
