Default Encore Metallic Gold and Silver stamp pads

I purchased these stamp pads a couple weeks ago to use on Christmas Cards. The Gold seems to be working just fine but the Silver smears to the touch even after setting a few days. I also tried to heat set but still smeared a little. I've tried it on SU Whisper White and Gina K's Pure Luxury White card stock. What am I doing wrong??? Thank you for your help. Suzie

You are not doing anything wrong - I usually emboss Enocore because I've heat set it and days later it will smear. I find that when the paper is really smooth it takes longer to dry. I still love it even though it can be a pain.

I always emboss the Encore. I have both gold and silver embossing powder.

Every single gold and/or silver ink I've ever tried smears. I have two more ink pads to try and if those smear, I'm giving up on silver & gold ink and just go with versamark and silver or gold embossing powder.

I just tried Stazon's metallic silver, and like it. It dries fairly quickly and doesn't smear. I have the gold as well, but haven't tried it yet.
Like others, I usually emboss when using Encore inks - they never dry otherwise.

I've found that if I stamp with a very juicy pad and heat set immediately after each image, it dries well and doesn't smear.

The Staz-On gold and silver ink pads come with a reinker and are pricey ($15? at HL). And they dry out quickly. Plan on reinking every time you get them out. But they dry better and don't smear.
