Default SBVC137 Faux Rock

How many of you have a child or grandchild who collects rocks? My youngest would bring home rocks from every place we visited. He has moved away from collecting as many, now that he tried rock climbing.

This week's challenge is to use one of the following "Rock" techniques.

Polished Stones Here is a website for a great layout using the polished stone technique.

Pearl-Ex

No rock collectors in my family, but I do own some Pearl-ex, so I hope to get some time to give this a try.

Didn't have the right type of glue. Used what I had and I do like the look of my panel. I am going to try this again with different glue!

Well heaven knows I have big bottles of glue and plenty of pearl ex and there are rocks on my front porch that my gk's collected this summer. But I can not say they are "Rock collectors".
Let me see what I can come up with.

Wow. I actually remember bookmarking this Polished Stone Tutorial recently..not sure where I found it though. And I actually have lots of jars of Pearl Ex (the big sizes) of every color there was using my AC Moore 40% off coupons. I'll have to think of a way to incorporate something like this into a page for next weekend's mini VSBN...

Here is my page using the Heated Pearls technique. What fun, so much fun that I made more using reds and oranges but have not used it in a project yet.
Thank you for reminding us about all the great techniques to be found on SCS.
