Hi everyone. Well, I am in the market for a craft sewing machine.
I have looked at the Janome sew mini, used by Gina K and read the reviews.
I am also looking at the Singer Pixie Plus.
One of the negative comments about the Janome is there is no guide on the plate to keep your lines straight. I am trying to see on line if the Singer is the same way. (Hard to tell in the photos).
Does anyone have a suggestion about a machine that they would recommend?
I do have a machine I had used for years. Unfortunately, it is going to cost $75 to have tuned up and the guy can't guarentee that he can fix it.
So, feedback?????
Thanks all!

I have the Janome and I love it!!! Follow Gina K's instruction from start to finish and it will sew like a charm. Give it a try...I bet you will like it.
I don't know about Janome's mini sewing machine, but I have a full size and love it, good product.
I have heard those tiny little sewing machines (not sure what the Janome looks like..if it is one of those tiny ones) don't hold up over time with continued wear and tear.

Reason: spelling
I bought a Pixie first, and it did NOT work from the very start, so I took it back. Then I went to Hancocks and bought the Janome Sew Mini and I love it! It sews just exactly what I need for cards! Love how it works! It is great for card making! Can't wait to try it on my scrapbook pages!
I am disabled with a bad heart and so do most of my cardmaking and scrapping from bed. I have researching a lightweight machine that would be easily adapted to use in bed.
The light weight of the Janome mini sounds like it just might fit the bill. Can someone who has one tell me about the size of it's foot pedal? Any chance it would be comfortable enough to place under my arm or elbow for use while sitting up in bed on a lap desk?
Does it require much strength to push it?
I'd really appreciate any feedback/tips/suggestions you might have!
I'm on my second Sew Mini --I thought I had a lemon the first time around so I thought I'd give it another chance & got another. After a year (& I didn't even use it that much) the zig zag part broke ----it skips a lot of stitches ----so now I can only use the straight stitch. I haven't had a lot of time to craft lately so it's not really worth it for me to get a different one at this point.
I read a lot of threads about it & it just really seems hit or miss ----many people never have had a problem ---but there a few that hate it & have had nothing but problems with it.
