CAS87 - Faux Letterpress (10/4/10)
What is CAS?
CAS is an acronym for Clean and Simple. Below is the reworded definition.
It's all about the design.
* not the technique
* not the tools
* not the embellishments
It's all about the design.
* Uncluttered
* lots of white or open space
* one main focal point
It's all about the design.
Clean & Simple

CAS Technique Challenge: Faux Letterpress
I found a great tutorial on StampTV. It's labeled "Inking a Cuttlebug Folder".

TLC293 CAS87 Autumn Hello by GardenDiva - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
Here's my card.................I actually use this technique a lot. I love how I can use my stamp pads to color any of my EFs to coordinate with my cardstock.
Thanks

Thanks, Jen, this is a technique I only tried one other time....I was afraid of staining my CB EFs. It really gives a wonderful effect that would be hard to achieve another way! I combined your challenge with the TLC one for today too.

I love this technique. I think it's also called Brayered Folder, but I like the sound of Faux Letterpress so much more. Here's mine:

I love a challeng but man this one really fit the bill. I had a hard time not getting ink all over the unraised portion of the folder. I used several different ink pads. Finally got this one to turn out pretty good. Never could get the small folder to work. TFL

I did my best to do "faux letterpress" today without embossing folders--I have nothing of that sort! So I guess this is FAUX "faux letterpress." Sorry! I did the best I could with what I've got . . .
