Default Publication Question

For those of you lucky stampers that have had your work published-
after you submit to a magazine, how long would you wait to find out if
your submission was accepted? Not quite sure how long to hold onto
cards I have already submitted. Thanks for your replies.

It depends on the magazine. Usually the ones that you submit to via email will let you know if something has been accepted (most don't email you if you don't) by the next call date.

You usually don't find out until the magazine comes out, at least that's been my experience It depends on the magazine but they'll either send you an e-mail, a postcard or a copy of the magazine. (At least you hope they do, I'm in the current issue of Somerset Studio and they still haven't contacted me to tell me, I had to buy a copy for myself.) I usually submit for specific calls and so I know when that issue is coming and I keep an eye out for it. Also they'll keep your items for a long time, most 6 month to a year but I also had a few things kept for two years before they were returned.

Depends on the pub.

For example:

Paper Crafts has listed on their call the date that you will hear from them by. And they have always stuck to that...it even says don't submit that card to anywhere else until after that date.

CARDs/Scrapbook Trends has a deadline to submit by....and it's usually 1-5 days after that that you'll hear from them. I would wait 7 to be safe on that one.

You will not hear from either if you are not accepted.

Good Luck!
