Default Inexpensive A2 Envelopes

HI everyone,
I need a source for very inexpensive A2 white envelopes - I don't care if it is pointed flap or square flap and they don't need to be nice and thick or anything, just cheap. I need to keep the cost down as much as possible, they are just for kid cards.

Thank you for any help! Wal-Mart and Target both just had the Invitation envelopes that fit 4x6 photos, when I need a true A2. Michaels wanted an arm and a leg for simple white envelopes.

Happy Crafting,
Nikki

I usually get mine from Staples. Can't remember the exact price, but I think it was around $5 for 50.

I am glad that you asked this question. I was so disappointed when Walmart changed the size of their envelopes. Why not create a new size for 4x6 pictures and continue to make true A2s? I will use up the ones I have but when those run out I'll need a new place to buy them.

I've also purchased mine at Big Lots...giggle...when they carry the Martha Stewart stuff, they will usually sell the invitation sets for $2 for 40 invites or so. Last time they did it, I bought 7 boxes so paid $14 and had 280 envelopes...sorry, I did toss the invites, I only wanted the envelopes. I still have 5 boxes left. My Big Lots had a few wedding ones left when I was there last weekend. You might try it.

Nikki...how many do you need? I get mine from Clear Bags.com and they are under 78.00 delivered for 2000. Last time I ordered 3000 and it was just a bit over $100.00. They go very fast at my house...almost time to order again.
blessings.

Thanks everyone!!

Amber - just a couple hundred or so. I then today finally found a box of 250 for $12 which is doable, and I can order online, which is a lot easier for me. So I might go with that, or send someone to Big Lots to see if they have any! Our local paper store didn't have any for a good price (I called) and Staples/Office Max wanted too much money. I'm thinking I will order a box of 250. If I needed a couple thousand though, it is very good to know that Clear Bags has them for that price! And I can imagine you go through a ton of envelopes!

Thanks everyone!!

Wow, that is a good price! That comes to 3.9 cents each. I just ordered some from Office depot, they were 13.9 cents each, but when they are gone I'm going to try that, and hopefully share them with my stamping friends.

1 x 8 + flap, Crystal Clear Bags(25x203) (100 pack) [B1X8] - Flap Seal Bags - Crystal Clear Bags

Here you go. I've been reading the thread about the M&M bags, but haven't taken the plunge yet. I have ordered regular A2 envelopes from Clear Bags, and was very pleased with the quality and price (500 white and 250 ivory).

Amber, is it the bone white A2, E5201 envelopes that you are talking about that are $2.30 each or $1.40 each if you order 3000 envelopes? I just want to make sure before I order because I know you've said the ones you order are a decent envelope. I don't need 1000s but even the price for a couple hundred is better than what I can find around me. Thanks.

I found them at Anchor Paper It is $10.50 for 250 envelopes - but shipping seems to average $10 with them on all my orders - I have a TON of paper to order from them, so I don't know what it would be for just the envelopes alone.

Do you mean the shipping costs for the M&M bags from Clear Bags? You can get them at Arnie's Arts and Crafts 1" x 8" bag (pack of 10) - I ordered 10 packs from him (.80 cents a pack, 10 bags in a pack) and the shipping was $3. But then I needed about 500 more, so I ordered from Clear Bags that time - but I also was getting retail handle bags and bookmark sleeves. For everything I ordered the shipping was reasonable, but yes if you are just ordering M&M bags, it's outrageous.

Me too. I tend to cut down my A2 card size to 4" wide and 5.25" high if I am going to be doing tons of layers, so it will still fit in the A2 envelope. It'd be nice to not have to do that!

Silly suggestion here ... but I've started using my old DSP to make envelopes. If you want white - use the one sided ones and put the design on the inside.

I did that, without looking. I just grabbed the box and when I got home I realized that they were the wrong ones. So I took them back and that's when I realized that they stopped carrying them.

Now I get my envelopes from Sam's club and they are delivered right to my home (at a great price too). Here's the link to the envelopes I order:

Yes, dollar tree has cheap envelopes...think, so cheap that you have to reglue all sides before you can mail anything in them, and so cheap you can read the whole card without opening the envelope. Not worth my time...sigh...

I use E120 White and E121 Ivory from Clearbags.com. The quality is good and I go through them so fast that the price is great. The more you order the cheaper they are I think. I have never found anything cheaper. Good luck ladies.

They are nice quality. They are not the same smoothness of SU envelopes but just as heavy I would say. No sheen....just matte.

The picture is deceptive, they really are 1x8 bags. I've ordered them. Clear Bags doesn't put up a picture of each individual flap seal bag, they use one size as the picture for ALL the sizes, which is insanely confusing. I emailed them before I ordered the first time from them, to ask, and they said no it doesn't look like the picture but it is the 1x8 bag - and they were right.

You stack M&M's in them then put a topper of some kind on them - super fun, really cute, really EASY. I've done graduation cap toppers, Mickey Mouse heads, fringe fireworks, snowmen heads, santa heads, on the list goes. It makes a great little gift. I don't sell mine because I have to handle the m&m's, but other ladies sell theirs at craft fairs.

Default I get my at GT

I ordered the 1 x 8 clear bags at GT Bag company and it was great. I got 400 bags with shipping being 4.95. I ordered them on Tuesday AM and the bags were here on Friday. Great service. The package also included as sample pack of various sizes of other bags they carry. I will be ordering from them again.
