I would probably use my ATG gun. Strips around the edge, and then several across the middle. This is the way I do covers for composition notebooks that I alter with dp.

For an album cover I prefer using YES glue - applied with a brush (not a foam brush) in an even coat to just the paper...The paper can be moved for exact positioning. Then use a brayer in diagonal rolls to squeeze out any excess glue and set firmly. Weigh the cover down with heavy books so it won't warp.

Hmmm... all products that I don't have :-( Thanks for your responses. Anyone else? There is a chart in the new SU cattie, but I don't have mine right now, I lent it to a friend.
These are the things I have tried with their results:
Spray Adhesive: Works great - only drawback is I always end up with it on my arms for some reason when I use it (could be me and not the glue)
My ATG: Love this thing - but when you want super great coverage this doesn't work as well for me - I always have little corners, etc that don't get stuck down.
Ranger's Multi Medium - this stuff is awesome - takes a while to dry though and sometimes if you are using thin paper I've had it rip. I do think this gives the best "coverage" though.
Xyron - This is one of my favorite things - only issue I have with it is the glue left around the small crevices of a cutout - but nothing that an adhesive eraser won't fix!
Personally for these I think the glue/multi medium with a paintbrush provides the best coverage.
My favorite all-time adhesive is by 3M. It is a liquid and comes in a bottle. It's Scotch Quick-Dry adhesive. I love it for everything. A bottle will last your forever, because you only use a tiny bit. Most people use way too much when they first purchase it. A tiny line, barely visible, works great. Get it in the scrapbook section of Michael's or Hobby Lobby with a coupon! This glue does not wrinkle the paper either. Everyone in my card-making group pretty much uses it exclusively, since they've been introduced to it.
I have used primarily Modge Podge as stated above or even Crystal Lacquer. Another to try is Paper Adhesive by ArtQuest. I would like to know what would stick to bark. Yes bark from a white birch tree. My daughter has one in her yard that had a hunk hanging off so I asked if I could have it for my collage cards. When I tried to adhere it to the paper I had to use tons of tapes and send it to my brother quickly! before it came apart! Funny. He is a hunter and he absolutely loved it....before it fell apart.
I always use Jac paper for this type of thing. It's sheets of paper that has a peel off layer either side. I always use it to adhere patterned paper to chipboard etc.
Has anyone tried Zip-Dry Glue? I have a friend who is a fellow instructor that also teaches book-making. She has her classes purchase this glue for her book making classes and the Scrapbook store always sells out quickly. Made me a believer. You don't need much and it's wrinkle free. It drys in about 5-10 minutes--depending on how thick you apply it, climate you're in... Dries clear so it works great even on acrylic! A fantastic scrapping friend of mine also uses Zip-Dry and her projects turn out beautifully. However, several of my stamping friends and I tried it and threw ours out. It's messy, clogs, and I hate it. Wish I could get mine to work like her. Maybe I'm "Glue Challenged."
