2010 September Scrap Goal - SBC10Sep
Scrappin' Challenge 2010
Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2008 & 2009 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2010! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2010! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for September. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for September, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund! See POST #5 below for BUDGET!
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2010 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
(Pssst...in case you're interested in the "history", here's the thread that started it all 3 years ago...
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "SBC10Sep"

September Scrappin' Budget Goals
Scrappy Sisters,
I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want some goals or resolutions to use more of what we have. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal
Spending Budget Group
Matching Saving/Spending Goal Group
Scrap to Spend Goal Group

O.K., Lela -- my b'day is October 8th!!
Since I'm almost at my yearly goal, and I didn't make my 11-pg. goal for August (I think the Grinch must have stolen part of August--it couldn't really have been that short) I'll set my September goal at 9 pages. :p

My September goal is 27 pages.

I'm so far behind that I'm not sure what kind of goal I want to set. I have an album for my pregnant sil I'd like to complete and a new baby album for my daughter's tennis coach...they both should have been done by now :(...need to get motivated!

I too did not make my August goal -- so my September goal is 10 plus the 7 that I was short last month for a total of 17 pages. But I have passed my yearly goal, so I feel good with that.

Hi Wendy. Yes, I'm back -- exhausted still. What a GREAT weekend. We did 11 projects in that short time. They are fabulous. I'll post pictures when I have them all finished (3 not yet done). I did post on the other thread when I got back and mentioned how happy I was to meet you. We chatted like we knew each other for a very long time. I even had so much in common with your DH. It was wonderful that you drove all that way out there and took Geri and I out for such a lovely supper (great place!)

My birthday is October 15th, eh! I feel like I have a life time between now and then.
I may not be back on line after Friday, as I finish work Friday,we are moving house end of next week, and I do most of my "craft" websearching here at work.
I will be back in touch asap, as I REALLY want to start using my stamps and papers from in storage once we have moved!! I am so excited about getting them back... as I have probably told you all 100 times.

Attached is a photo a hotel employee took of the four of us at the Wild Horse Pass Sheraton Resort before we went to Carraba's for dinner. Pictured from L-R: Wendy (wendella247), Deb (I'm Hooked), Geri, Bob (Wendy's DH)
We did have a great evening, didn't we? I knew you and Bob would have a number of things in common, and we really enjoyed meeting and chatting with Geri too. Can't wait to see the photos of your projects.
Glad you had fun -- sounds like I'd have been done in with the hours you guys kept!

I will set my goal for September to 4 (again)...perhaps this month I'll make it for once! I think after Labor Day is over, things will calm down around here. (keeping fingers crossed!)

Thursday 52 Week Challenge - Week 35
The Thursday Challenge is BACK! If you've ever played on Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge than you know how this works. Each Thursday we'll feature a gallery for you to check out. Select a page for inspiration from that person's gallery and create your page. Upload the results so we can check it out. You can scraplift the page or just take inspiration from something you find, either way, please make sure you link her page to yours.
Also, there isn't a timelimit to this so have fun!
Have you ever wondered how the Scrappin' Gallery got started at SCS? I went hunting because I was just curious. The 12x12 Gallery first post was by DayDreamer in March 2003. Now I'm not sure if posts fall off after so many years or if that's really the first post but it's on page 2906! Wow! I thought that our first Scrappin' Featured Stamper should be the lady who has the VERY FIRST Uploads in the Gallery!

I love this--an official Thursday challenge. AND it's one of my favorite kinds -- featured stamper. I'm excited! What a cool surprise!
I'm off to check out the gallery and pick something to start working on!

I am jumping back in here. Maddy is off to school next week, and we have had such an awesome summer, way busier than I planned on.
But a great Generation picture taken at our family reunion recently.
A trip to Seattle, to celebrate 3 birthdays. Chris' dad turned 60
And a couple of trips to VA - my mom turned 60 also
A trip to Atlanta,
And umm a very short trip to Vegas at the end of this month for the International Lingerie show, umm don't think I will be taking pictures there, but I am sure I will get some other good ones since the girls are going (and my mom to babysit)
and well you get the drift I am behind behind behind, and really haven't done much since the last VSBN. So it's time to get busy
I want to be ambitious this month, let's go with 20, since I should be able to knock this out with all the inspiration I have.
And I love the Thursday challenge, and am loving the new Digi challenges (not sure how I can do them with MDS, at least the last couple) but just the same want to try and do as many as I can!!!
Ok enough blah blah blah Can you tell I am excited!

Also, there isn't a timelimit to this so have fun!

ok with about 300 uploads, we are bound to find some great pages to lift
granted I realize they are all not scrap-pages, but her cards are great too

breaking it down weekly I think I need to average 4 pages per week.

Actually I'm quite an avid golfer. I usually golf 4 times per week, but since I've torn the cartilege in my knee, I haven't been out much. But after my surgery, I'm right back at it. I LOVE the game (and can play pretty decent too most of the time). I tend to score high 80's, low 90's. I really miss it.
