Have you read autograph verses from the late 19th to the first half of the 20th century? My mother has a small velvet album of my great-grandmother's and she gave me blank one as a birthday gift when I was young. Here are some that might be appropriate for cards. Enjoy!

My pen is poor
My ink is pale,
But my love for you
Shall never fail!
~~ <> @ <> ~~
May your life be "A Midsummer's Night Dream"
And always "As You Like It."
~~ <> @ <> ~~
When Cupid shoots his arrow,
I hope he "Mrs" you.
And may you live happy ever after
In your bungaloo.
~~ <> @ <> ~~
May your life be strewn with roses, and
Your husband meek as Moses.
~~ <> @ <> ~~
May Dame Fortune ever smile on you,
And not her daughter, "Miss Fortune."
~~ <> @ <> ~~
Remember me long,
Remember me ever,
Remember the days
We spent together.
~~ <> @ <> ~~
In your chain of friendships
May I be your master link.
~~ <> @ <> ~~
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you!
~~ <> @ <> ~~
When you get old and cannot wiggle,
Think of me and then you'll giggle.
~~ <> @ <> ~~
When you are old and cannot see
Put on your specs and think of me.
~~ <> @ <> ~~
As twilight draws the curtain
And pins it with a star,
Remember that you have a friend
And she is not too far.
~~ <> @ <> ~~
May your joys be added,
Your sorrows subtracted,
Your friends multiplied,
And your enemies divided.
