What percentage of your stamps have never been used?
Wow- I can't believe how many stamps I've never even used and yet I'm always on the lookout for new ones! If I consider each stamp (not sets) I'd guess that I've never used at least half of the stamps I own. How sad is that?: What about you?
My goal this past year was to use every stamp at least once...and I have. Over 400. I do my own 'ministry' as a retired teacher. I send card to the schools (I have inside people who tell me who needs cheering up) as teacher rarely --IF EVER-- gets good mail.
I am trying to use all of them or at least one from a set at least once..but it is a huge undertaking with the amount of stamps I own and keep buying...lol
blessings. I answered 50-75%.
Probably 50% but I have been trying to not buy anything I don't need/want. After purguing alot I realized that a couple of great floral sets are enough so I stay away from buying those. I don't do "cutsie" and even though I love cards I see done, I won't use that type of card for myself so I don't buy anymore. (purged alot of magnolias that way). I have just about any kind of greeting/saying so I need to stay away from those as well. I am a sucker for christmas and decided I have to get rid of a stamp before I get a new one. LOL.
Mine would be closer to 50%, I am trying to use all of mine at least once, but it depends on what I am making and if it is something that I don't have alot of time to make, I will go to one of my go-to stamps rather than use one that hasn't seen ink. I probably need to go through and do a purge to make space for stamps I might use more.

Oh great, now I have to tell that I don't use all the stamps I buy!!! I would have to say less than 25% but there are some that have never seen ink. I'm still not ready to part with any of them, well except the ones I gave to my oldest grand daughter.
In a few years I will have to purge the stamps that are not loved as much as others.

What a scary question! I quickly answered 0-25% thinking 25% was about right but now that you have me thinking about it I bet it's really closer to 50%. I have lots of sets that I have used only 2 or 3 out of however many in a set plus all those $1 stamps I can't seem to resist............Sigh.......I guess I better get stamping!
I put 0-25%. but I probably don't have 10% of the stamps that many of you do. I only started this a little over a year ago. I have some Christmas stamps that were never used because I bought them after I had made last years cards . And I have 3 SU sets and 2 background stamps that have not been used on a card, but I stamped them on scrap paper to see what they looked like.

If I could only buy 1 stamp instead of a set I WOULD JUST ABOUT EVERY TIME. With that said I voted 0-25%. I've only been stamping for about 3-4 years and I have wavered between rubber and photo polymer stamps. Now that I have settled on one main stamp type, my stamp buying is more focused and I don't feel so confused, KWIM? But I DO KNOW it is time for me to purge some stamps!! I have way tooooooooo many, LOL!! Great topic.
This and some other polls are great topics! . I think really looking at our stuff will make all of us more aware of our purchases. It won't stop us from buying things! However, it will make us more selective and purposeful in what we buy. In the end we will enjoy what we have more.
I voted 50-75%. I have a ton of stamps but seem to go back to the same ones. I guess that 80/20 thing really works. I use 20% of my stamps, 80% of the time. Can't bring myself to get rid of them though.
Without going and actual count; I answered between 0-25%. If I had to count actual STAMPS; ( not sets ) I think the number would be around 15%. There always seem to be one or two in a set I just don't use!
I use all of the "major" stamps in a set; however, there are stems of flowers and things like that that I've never used so I'm going to say less than 20% are unused but that's just a guess.
Ummmmmm......does it count as "used it" if you've thought about it a million times and bookmarked a bunch of projects that you want to make??? Probably not, I'm guessing.

I love this. What a sweet and thoughtful thing to do!

Hee, hee... if you drooled over the stamp set and it left a watermark I'll give you credit. Your too funny!

I was thinking "sets" so I checked 0-25%. Individually...hmmmm I have no idea! Could be close to 50%...I hope not! I'll keep an informal tally as I go through my sets when I unpack them. I'm moving!

All of my stamps have seen ink at least once, I index all of my stamps so I have to ink them up to do that, besides I can at least tell DH that I have used all of the stamps that I have.

SSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! WHAT IF OUR HUSBANDS SEE THIS????
I'm not tellin
Exactly! Besides .... it's SO much fun buying more! I'm afraid I'm in the 50-75% range myself. What? Get them dirty? LOL.
There's the rubber ones - wood mounted, foam mounted and bare ( can't begin to list all the brands - but at least they seem to store together well)
There the 15 different kinds of clear stamps from KSS, PTI, Cindy at Stampingscrappingdotcom, and all those others in between (including Tim H.)
I think almost all of my sets have been used at least once. Now with individual images, I have quite a few that I haven't had a chance to use yet. Many are dt stamps that I haven't gotten to quite yet.
I answered 50-75% due to using 1 or 2 stamps out of sets so usually everyset I buy has over 4 stamps in total. If I only had to count my wood-mount that I have purchased individually it would look better at under 25%.

There are those few stamps where I think "what was I thinking??!!"
I have a set of ancient foam-mounted vegetable stamps. They are small, hard to use and a pain in the tushie to color, but I keep hanging on to them thinking I'll use them on a recipe card. I mean, honestly, how many times can you use an eggplant stamp??!! :p
Great question!

I think I have used at least half the stamps in my collection. However, last summer I purged a boatload of stamps and kept just my favorites. I am becoming more selective about my purchases so I am hoping that percentage goes down and I use more of what I have. Of course, I didn't do myself any favors by signing up as a CTMH demo...I am loving the new Fall/Winter catty!

I can honestly say all mine have seen ink as I have binder index system too, and all my INKS have been used too as I have indexed them too lol. But as for use, I have my fav's and I mostly do christmas and Birthday cards with them. I have some I have no idea what to do with them, I had this cute tea pot set from SU giving to me, but have no clue what to do with it lol

Looks like the vegetable stamps need to go into the donation box and make room for more useful stamps :lol:
I have had a few " sunstroke purchases" too. My thinking must have been impaired by a sunstroke when I bought them
I had to put 50-75% because of the "individual stamps". But if I were to go with sets, I'd say its closer to 25%. I will never ever use every single individual stamp from every set...but I won't get rid of the set and I can't break them up (makes my brain meltdown, LOL).
0-25% for me. I use most of mine - the vast majority that haven't been used at the moment are because I've ordered more stamps than usual this summer and have quite a few new ones that I just haven't gotten to yet . I'm slowly working my way through them as I get ideas for them.
