My name is Miriam and I am a wife to a wonderful husband as well as a mum to 2 boys. I come from the land down under and live in Melbourne, Australia. I am Alz's bestie (another newbie) and she is mine. I am also the bad influence that has got her back into card making since becoming a SU demonstrator, hehehehe evil huh!
I have been lurking for a while seeking inspiration and found plenty here. I have a little bit of a loopy sense of humour and I am a bit odd ball at times but it is all part of my charm.
My personality comes across in my craft where I will take a beautiful beach scene and stick a great white shark in the background. I like things to be a little wrong.
I have started a blog if you want to take a look at my cards, I will put some in the SU gallery here once I work out how to do that.
I have just joined the SU Demonstrator Group here and I am off to look at the Aussie, Aussie, Ausie ..... post now.
Oh and by the way StampinSuze Alz and I are about 10 mins from Werribee!!!! You will have to let us know when you are in Melbourne.
Miriam you are cracking me up this morning. Your sense of humor makes me now not feel so bad for sniggering at your fist sentence as I read it that you were wife and mom to two boys (I'm twisted and haven't had my coffee yet)
Anyway welcome, have fun, share your stuff, ask questions, poke around...ENJOY!

Hi Miriam....and welcome. I browsed your blog, and your cards are wonderful. But what does "gobsmacked" mean? - Susan
Oooops sorry about that.......a little bit of slang creeping in there! :grin:Alright allow me to use a more sophisticated tone while I explain......
Gobsmacked -(a colloquial expression; characteristic of spoken or written communication that seeks to imitate informal speech) slang for utterly astounded; astonished. Completely dumbfounded, shocked. From the Irish word "gob" meaning "mouth"; to be surprised or caught off guard.
There you go! I hope that clears things up for you. Hmmm we may need to start a thread "Miriam, what does that word mean?" Feel free to keep pulling me up on my slang!

Yes my sense of humour is a little left of the centre but hey, what would you expect from the "Mr Bean" of the scrap world!!! The first time I tried heat embossing a Christmas card it sure looked like Christmas alright, powder everywhere. Then I set fire to my card and melted the ribbon with my heat gun. When I tried to stitch on a LO for the first time I dropped the needle and caught it between my thighs......Ouch!!!! Seriously stop laughing! When I cant find something on my desk the first place I look is my elbows because you can guarantee I have stuck it there somehow.
WARNING - Don't drink coffee and read my posts it can be dangerous to your health. Snorting hot coffee out your nose is painful!

That is hilarious! I have sometimes spent ages looking for an embellishment only to finally find it adhered to the underside of the card I am working on!

Welcome Miriam. You have cheered me up no end today. It is a horrible rainy day in KL. I am hoping to make it to Auz one day and maybe I will give you a call if I ever get to Melbourne. Have fun with this site and be prepared to part with some cash, as there are some 'terrible' enablers on here!
Welcome to the forum! Be sure to sign up for the demo side of Splitcoast if you haven't already!
