Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2008 & 2009 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2010! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2010! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for August. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for August, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund! We're going to launch another Thursday Challenge for 2010! I'm so excited!!
SCS 52 Week Thursday Goal Challenge!
This year on Thursdays you'll be invited to join us for our 52 Week Scrap Challenge. These challenges will be PERFECT whether you're working on your kids albums, 2010 Family Album, Daily Life Album or a "BOM" (Book of Me).
We have a SPECIAL Hostess for every month and each Thursday they will post a challenge that goes with their theme for the month! By the end of the year, you'll have some GREAT pages or a complete 2010 Scrapbook...OR BOTH! :mrgreen:
I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want some goals or resolutions to use more of what we have. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal
Hey, I guess I'm the first to post my goal for the upcoming month. I'll aim for 11 pages again, and I'll try not to remind myself that it's already August!
Things have started to settle down so I think I will raise my goal from 7 to 14. Thanks Lela for getting this started and for all you do! Here's to another great month of scrapping with friends...old and new!

I met my goals for July and The month of August is looking just as crazy for me as July has been, so I think I am going to keep my goals very simple again...

And the new SU! catalog {insert drool} is here, filled with TOTALLY awesome stuff, and I have saved $200.00 by using my stash that I am going to be using this month as my restocking fun! (I mean Fee)
Hi, my goal is 8 pages this month, I would like to say $40 to spend at the end, except we don't have that much disposable cash, so I will make it $20 (again).

Didn't make my July goal again but I'm still on target for the year. Think I'll only set my goal for 3 this month...that seems to be what I can get out each month lately!
DGS found the website Jumpstart.com and we have to literally shut off the computer now so as a result, I don't get much time to digi scrap (since everything is on that computer) and I'm too tired after 9 p.m. to work on things once he goes to bed.
I know...I could do it with paper but.........the mess and all those thought processes to get it going...makes me more tired just thinking about it! lol!

Wow, I'm really impressed with you gals that already have pages done! Maybe I should get off the computer and go scrap. I think I'll keep my goal at 15 layouts this month, Lela. I actually completed 16 in July, but it's always more fun to go over your goal than to fall short, right? Thanks for all the inspiration last month, ladies. I was really busy so I didn't leave as many comments in the gallery as usual, but I had a great time looking at all the beautiful layouts.
I'm in this month too!! With both kids in school I hope I can do some major catch up!! I'll be starting school at the end of the month too though, so I don't want to get too ambitious!
August goal: 10 pages + the other usual stuff & whatever catch up I have to do. Thanks!

I went to a crop Saturday and ... well ... I got only 6 pages done. I like 2 of them :( It was just one of those times where it didn't seem to work out as planned. I'm going to have to "get busy" this month to catch up to my yearly goal!

Welcome! Wow...what great pages in your gallery. It's good that you are coming to join and play along. We'll be able to find your pages easily now. I just got back from Disney and got to see thru your pages some of the things we missed! That park is SO huge! And with a birthday party #7 coming up on the end of August, that pirate idea sounds good and I loved your pages. Great inspiration!

Well, I came a little short for July ( 8 out of 10 ) - I'll blame it on jury duty this week. I could not believe that I got picked! Oh well, too bad I didn't take any pictures - that would have been an interesting scrapbook page!
I go back to school in 2 weeks, so my clock is ticking away. I do hope to get one more scrapbooking opportunity in, however, so I think I will shoot for 5 pages.

Well, I'm a slllllllooooooowwwwwww poke this year!! I'm so behind :(
I've got a crop this month and with school starting the kiddos will be away and mommy can play more!! hahaha I want to have finished 100 pages by the end of this month, sooooo, my goal this month is:
I don't know Melina...I might have that title, slow poke of the year! I lowered my goals and still haven't been hitting them (and my yearly goal is lower than yours!). Fortunately, we are restarting our weekly scrapping get togethers tomorrow. A group of us that are available during the day (I really can't stand the 'stay' at home mom term since we all volunteer and/or work different schedules). We switched last year from Tuesday to Monday's and it didn't seem to work as well so we're back to Tuesdays and we have more people joining us...about 8 all together (but we'll see how many really are consistent ;-)) It seems like when I have a schedule I get more done. Tomorrow the mom's will scrap and the kiddos will swim & play...should be fun for all. Now I need to exercise then clean my house! My goals are in my siggy...have a great day!
