Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites for the Week Ending August 1, 2010
Welcome, EVERYONE, to the Clean and Simple (CAS) favorites of the week thread! All are invited to share their CAS favorites from the gallery this past week.
My week has been full of a 9-week-old golden retriever puppy, who gives me very little time to gallery surf. But here are a few favorites to get us started. I'm looking forward to seeing the CAS delights YOU found in the big, beautiful gallery that I missed, 'cause I know I missed A LOT. But puppy breath and frito paws are really quite distracting. I'm sure you understand.
Itsapassion used silhouettes, color, and a corner rounder beautifully on her featured stamper card Because I Care
k dunbrook made a happy daise OLC that would make anyone smile
jenndspencer used embossing and bling to great effect on her Thanks a Bunch card
lililindsay showed how perfectly simple a card can be with her OLW14 card
kthaman used texture to create a wonderful base for her simply pretty Happy Thoughts card (love that sentiment, too!)
Erin K's map flower card on kraft with a slight woodgrain embossed on it is simply warm and friendly
CherylQuilts used a large Hero Arts flower stamp in such a dramatic yet simple way on her Just Saying Hello card
snail went sweet and soft with her adorable Pieced Elephant card
kstamper kept her season's greetings card super simple and festive and let a small stamp shine
LynniePoo used a strong green very sparingly on her mostly white note-to-say card and made a ver happy and bold card
artsy_em created a warm and cozy New Baby card with a fabulous layout and natural cardstock
genesis made a deceptively simple holiday card with rich colors and ornate stamps for maximum impact
Now it's YOUR turn! Please share your favorites, and also some love in the form of comments on the cards posted here or in the gallery at large. Every kind comment is precious and motivational to the artist, and so many fabulous cards have few or no comments.
Many thanks to ALL of you who take time to share your art--CAS or otherwise--here at SCS. Each and every one of you makes this site an enormous treasure-trove of inspiration. What an amazing community!
You're welcome, Lynette! And I'm sorry for the typo in your card's description. My only excuse is puppy-induced sleep deprivation. I actually proofread the post twice, but oh my poor, tired brain!
Susan, it is an honor to be mentioned by YOU for my CAS card! And, Karen, you are a gem to let us all know -- what a sweet and kind thing too! You are both great and talented gals! Hugs, Cheryl
First of all, get ready to have your mind blown: did you know that middle clicking (depending on your mouse, that means pressing the scroll wheel or sometimes a separate small button under the scroll wheel) a link will open it in a new tab? Helps strolling though the gallery and/or favorites threads a breeze!
Here, you can try on these favorites: CAKath love the muted tones with that POP of yellow!
My first CAS favorite and it's by SUSAN!!! I'm sooooo excited. My husband thinks I'm a loon.
Thanks so much for mentioning my card!!! And thanks to Karen for letting me know!
And a few of my faves... bdubya Not labeled CAS, but I love the crisp colors and simple layout
hbrownthis is adorable! It was put up last Sunday so I'm not sure if it counts, but I love it anyway!

Susan thanks so much for mentioning my card! Just have to say you and many others on SCS are so inspirational to me when it comes to CAS stamping! Thanks again!
First of all, a big THANK YOU to ravengirl for the mention! I'm so honored...you've been one of my fave CAS artists since before I even knew about this thread! lol Also...didn't ever notice how close we live to each other!!
Second of all, thank you to Kdunbrook for letting me know of the mention! You're always so good about that, and I appreciate all the time that must go into that!
Third...mtgchic - THANK you for sharing the shortcut! I've been using the shift-click method, and yours is much quicker/easier!
Have a fab Sunday! Off to a get-together...hope to be back later with faves.

Thanks so much Susan for the shout out! I'm honored!! And I so appreciate Karen for popping by to tell me about it! This is almost as fun as getting a hand-stamped card!!
OMGOSH, Meg, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never knew that shortcut and oh will it be a huge help!
You are very welcome! I just learned it and I consider myself pretty tech savvy. Why have they been keeping this a secret?!? Now you'll have more time for PUPPY!!!!!
I'm later than usual this week...Had to get my challenge cards for tomorrow finished, then church, then babysit gk's while my son was at work and my daughter in law was at the hospital in labor and delivery with a client (she's a doula). So, I just got home. Whew!

OR you can press and hold "shift" when clicking on a thumbnail. It opens a new window instead of a new tab. It is one click quicker than the scroll wheel click!
Wow! Thank you Lisa, for the choosing and mentioning the yellow and black Happy Birthday card as a CAS. I am honored and grateful to have a card mentioned!!

Wow! Neat computer tip! I experimented on my Mac laptop and, for anyone who has the Mac laptop, it's Command and click simultaneously and voila, what you're pointing at opens in a new tab.
Thanks!

Anyone have any more CAS faves to share?? Huh?? I know I missed some!
Wow! Thanks for the mention, Fionna - I so appreciate it! And thank you to Karen Dunbrook for letting me know . . . and for being the inspiration for my CAS card!

Thank you so much Lisa ( Lisa Lara ) for mentioning my notecards this week. It was a nice surprise this morning when I got a comment from Karen (k dunbrook) letting me know I made it on your list. You are both so sweet and I appreciate the kindness, hugs to both, Irene
