I have a 9 yr old son that goes to camp at our local 'Y'. Their theme this week is art. He told me on the way home yesterday that Luke (a fellow 9 yr old boy at camp) must have a mom that is a SU demo. I asked him how he knew that (as I thought his was an odd topic for 9 yr old boys). He said that Luke was painting and told him that the color he was using looked like Brilliant Blue! My son Jake asked him if his mom stamped because that was a SU color!
Too funny! It is amazing how much our kids pick up from us! I have caught my dd flipping thru my catty and placing stickies on the things she likes. How many times has she seen me doing that? lol

I just have to add to this one!
Sunday my son and daughter had gotten very quiet - I thought Yippie I get to go and stamp they have fallen asleep FINALLY! Well I was surprised to find that my son was covered in "blue". I asked him (he is 2 by the way) what he had on him and he said "blue" - oh my I thought - where did you get the "blue" from and he said "sissy and me stamp"!! She has a set of stamps that she plays with while I stamp and she decided to let brother help her "stamp"!! It took a scrubbing and a bath to get the ink off of him but it was priceless to hear him say "sissy and me stamp"!!
How cute! My daughter just turned nine and had some unusual birthday requests. Grandma asked if she still liked toys or was she into more girly things now for her birthday. My daughter replied she was asking for a digital camera, an epson printer and a scrapbook tote so she could do stamping and "scrapworking" just like mom! No Barbie for her! Just let her create!
My daughter is redecorating her room and when we went to the store to get new stuff I asked her what color she wanted.......... Positively Pink was her answer!

My 6 year old loves to stamp with me. I end up getting no stamping done myself because I'm cutting for her and opening stamp pads, and cleaning stamps. So, we were stamping together one afternoon and she turns to me and says "When you get old and can't do the cutting anymore..." (now I'm thinking we are going to have a Hallmark moment where she tells me that she'll help me the way I'm helping her, but no) "I'm taking all this stuff!"

OMG!!!! What cute stories you all have. Isn't amazing what kids say and pick up on? I know I think in 48 colors.... my neices and nephews love to help me and they're starting to talk that way, too!
I need to bring out the stamp pads for my girls again...I bought a few of the kiddie stamp pads...
NOTE: it does not harm your child if they LICK  the kiddie stamp pad - it will however, turn thier tongue Poppin Purple or Gumball Green for a little while.
That being said I think they have gotten a little wiser with age - I guess we will see - if they lick the stamp pads again I am definately going to get a picture this time 'round.

My cute "kids" story has to do with older kids. My youngest of 6 are 13, 15 and 18. On Mother's day, these 3 plus my husband banned me from my stamping area and spent 3 hours making me cards. It was AWESOME to see what they came up with! My 18 year old son stamped Happy Mother's Day with my alphabet stamps, and when I complimented him on how straight and even it was, he said, "do you know how hard that is? I had to re-do it 3 times just to get them all straight!!" My older daughter's boyfriend came over during the stamping fest and made a card with the baby from Cuddles and Tickles and used one of the flowers from Watercolor Minis on the top of the baby's head for hair. It was hysterical.
My husband made a big card, saying on the front that he had a hard time finding the perfect card. On the inside he had about 10 mini cards attached, each using a different "technique" saying things like: some were too crimped, some had too many eyelets, too much embossing, too many punches, etc.
I guess maybe you would have had to be there, but if you can try to picture everybody hunched over the table, and OH WHAT A MESS!!
Fun memories!! Alicia
Alicia
I would just die if my husband even knew what crimping and eyelets were! He always compliments my creations and enjoys telling people how crafty I am, but I think deep down inside he thinks I'm weird. At least he never grumbles when I ask for some quiet stamp time.
Laura,
I guess you would have to know my husband. He can be pretty silly at times. He is really proud of the stuff I make although I know he has to be REALLY sick of the stamps and etc all over the house. He made the comment once that I could never spend as much on my stamping as he has spent over the years on skiing, scuba diving and backpacking. Ha Ha! Just watch me try!!
Alicia
Alicia: I think you should post in your gallery the cards that your kids and hubby made for you! I bet they are just adorable! How incredibly thoughtful of them.
Gotta LOVE our stampin families!

I have a fun stamping family..I tell everyone I have 3 children (aDD 13, a DS 10 & a DH who is the biggest kid of all.).....a good example is a roses in winter class that I did tonight...one of the gals didn't show and my 10 yr old son was with me...he politely asked if he could stamp so I said go ahead...The other 4 ladies were amazedd on how straight and perfect his cards and projects look...When ever I attend a class and one of my children attend, My DH always asks to see our cards...It is amazing how much nicer the kids look compared to mine... My DS is sitting at my desk stamping away at birthday cards, cased from one of my sampler books...for his sister's b-day party...and it is 1:30 am and he wants to do more!!!! Oh to have the energy of the young...
I have also noticed even my DH talks in SU colors!!! How does that happen without us noticing??? It is too funny!!!!
Alicia, you had me crackin up with your story! I come from a larger family than you have (yes believe it or not there are families of 9 kids still these days)...and it was so reminiscent of when I lived at home...making Mom happpy with Dad at the helm is always the best surprise!!!! Oh and by the way, I am having a ball with the ribbons!
Here is my funny story...I don't have kids yet, but I use to work at this daycare. I started last summer. While I was starting my new job, this demo kept trying to reach me b/c she just moved to the area and didn't have stamping buddies. I never got to return her call because I had too many things going on....well. My upline and group had met her and they talked about how fun she was and stuff.....well
One day at work, I had to make a baby card and I brought a stamp pad, a cutter, and some stamps and paper. I was sitting at a table doing my thing. This little boy was watching me the whole time. Another child came up and asked"Ms stephanie what are you doing" Before I had a chance to open my mouth, the little boy said "She's making a card, it's stampin up."
I did not tell the little boy this. I immeadetly started asking the child questions. come to find out, his mother was teh demo that had been trying to call me!!! I had known her all this time!!!!! Wierd huh? We have since then become friends, and have had some stamp time together!
When you get old and can't do the cutting anymore..." (now I'm thinking we are going to have a Hallmark moment where she tells me that she'll help me the way I'm helping her, but no) "I'm taking all this stuff
Oh you guys are just the best. I love the friendships and spirit shared on these threads! I have never posted any samples because I am so technologically impaired, :? but now that you have given me the nudge, I am going to try and figure out how to put my family's cards in my gallery. I looked at them all again last night, and they are just priceless!!
I love everyone's stories, and really enjoy the avatars with your children's pictures. Hugs to each of you, Alicia PS. Today's my birthday and what a fun way to start the day!!
There is a new addition to the gallery section of special collections...Jenn just made it this morning it is for us to post Kid Creations on!!!! It is going to be sooo cute I just see it all now!
~Margaret~ Thanks very much for the birthday greeting. I am having a wonderful day...my kids are off making me cards, and letting me spend as much time as I want on the computer!
Thanks again...Alicia
This morning my son asked if he could bring a SU! catalog to camp to give to Luke's mom! My kid is selling for me! All he has to do if flash his baby blues and he gets people to do what he wants! I feel sorry for the girls when he gets older!
