How do I clean sticky tape off of scissors?

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how you get the stickyness from tape off of scissors.

I use the little rubber square adhesive remover. It works well for me.

I use oil of eucalyptus. Just dab on with a cotton ball or cloth scrap and wipe.

If you don't have any of the above remedies, you can use nail polish remover on a cotton ball, but be careful of your manicure!

I use Versamark! Slide the blades over the pad (the sides of the blades, not the edge) then wipe them down with a rag. I forget who told me that but it works like a hot-dang!

WD40 and StazOn cleaner are my choices. But I like the sound of eucalyptus oil, smells a lot nicer than what I use.

I use wd40. works like a charm and keeps the scissors oiled.

and next time you go to cut sticky stuff, like glue, wipe the blades over the Versamark and you wont have to worry about cleaning it off. HTH.

Just for the record, Avon Skin-So-Soft works to get the sticky off, too. I hardly ever use it on my skin, but it's good for a bunch of other things . . .

I use my Stampin' Mist. It's always just right there and the sticky come right off!

WD40 what a great idea. My scissors are getting a little stiff and I was just telling my hubby I don't know what I did to them to make them this way. I didn't even think about spraying them with WD40 and its also time to clean them so I will get a two for 1 this time.

I've used mineral spirits and it even lubes up your scissors pretty well in the process!

They have hardware stores that sharpen knives and scissors, however I've used aluminum foil to sharpen my punches and decorative scissors, wonder how it would work for your other ones.....? Good luck!

on scissors
on sticky labels
on plastic, glass, metal ... everything!

91% isopropyl alcohol

I use it to clean all my scissors and while I'm at it I clean all my acrylic mounts, desktop, rulers, bone folders, cutting mats etc. Takes off all the ink and stains!

I'm another Goo Gone fan. It pretty much takes anything off any surface, not just the sticky goo that it's intended to get. What would I ever do without it!?! Everybody needs a bottle, and from what I can tell one bottle is good for about a lifetime! It lasts forever.

I found a great spray that is easier to use, imho, than something you wipe onto the blades (one less opportunity for slicing my fingers...). It is called Crafters Companion Stick Away and I bought it from Sunday International online. Goo gone is the best. Leave on for a few seconds then wipe off with a clothe. Cotton balls, for me, are too messy.

Alcohol wipes work wonderful; however, it was suggested to me to try "Cutter Glide" by Inspired Crafts to clean not only my scissors but all my punches too. Along with the "Tool Cleaner" my punches & scissors are always at their best. Their web site is www.inspiredcrafts.com. FANTASTIC product :-)

I use Goo Gone for two reasons.

1) its oil based so it also lubricates the sissors (make sure you wipe really well with a dry cloth after cleaning them)
2) it is not alcohol based which can end up causing rust.

I just went on the Cutter Glide website and I can't figure out how to use the product and which one to purchase for my scissors, punches and Tonic cutter. HELP!
