I just got this newsletter; I know many folks here will miss Cornish Heritage Farms!
Well folks...
.. life is changing for Richard & I and so the time has come to say "Goodbye" to the Rubber Stamp side of Cornish Heritage Farms.
In early 2009 we started making plans to move the farm to southern Missouri. That did not materialize & although disappointed at the time, as we look back we can see why. The plan to move was made before Michael got himself into trouble & WAY before he met Jessie. We were needed here to help Michael through his trials & then later to prepare them as best we could for married life. PLUS had we moved in 2009 we would have missed out on the blessing of Caleb. Now Michael & Jessie are married, settling into their new life together & Caleb's adoption is complete.
As you well know, if you have been following our lives for very long, Richard & I never do things by halves! LOL! We are entrepreneurs in the truest sense of the word. We have watched the rubber stamp business grow & develop from practically nothing over the last 5 years. Alot of you have become good friends (hope that that doesn't change) and it's due to your loyalty as customers that CHF has been such a resounding success. The business is not in any financial difficulties, it is sound & making a good profit. Richard & I have just come to the place where we want to move on & start something fresh.
We have a buyer for the farm & although no fixed date for moving yet it is looking to be mid to late August. So with that in mind we wanted to give you a chance to purchase the stamps that you want/need & give ourselves time to liquidate all our inventory & equipment.
The business is up for sale and our desire is to see it go to someone who will take what we have started & grow it even beyond what it has become today. This is a great business to invest in & if you or anyone you know is interested please do not hesitate to contact us & we will put you in touch with the realtor. Serious enquiries only please. Although we are eager to sell & will accept offers we are talking about a substantial amount of money (6 digits).
Of course we have no idea what the new buyer will do, when the sale will occur or if they will offer all the same stamps for sale SO if there are stamps you want our advice is to get them now! Here is our timeline for shutting down:
Orders for any stamps will be accepted until Thursday, July 15th, 2010.
We will be closed on Friday, July 16th for stock take.
We will reopen Saturday July 17th, 2010 but we will not be pressing any new rubber, only remaining inventory will be sold at gradually discounted rates until it is all gone.
Our last day of trading will be Thursday Aug 5th, 2010.
Please keep in mind that orders may take longer to fulfill than normal due to an anticipated large order volume. We will keep you updated in the weekly newsletter & will be working hard to get orders out ASAP.
ALL sales are final from this time forward. NO returns will be accepted. If we should happen to make a mistake in your order please let us know ASAP so that we can fix it for you :-) If you have a Gift Certificate please use it before August 5th, 2010. Club CHF points will continue to be awarded until July 15th, 2010. After that date you will have until August 5th, 2010 to redeem any rewards you are entitled too. After August 5th, 2010 any points left on your account will be canceled.
In all this we want to continue doing things with full integrity & will continue to produce a high quality product to the end. We thank you for your faith in us & really appreciate your business.

Wow, I get their newsletter but have yet to get anything stating that. What a shocker. CHF is one of my favorite stamp companies. I recently placed a big order but still have a big wish list. I love their stuff!!! I guess I'll be putting in another much sooner rather than later. This news royally stinks. I'm glad that their lives have gotten so full and their dreams are progressing, but I love their stuff and will hate not being able to get it anymore. Off to figure out my final order(s).
They must do their newsletter in batches because I just now got the newsletter stating the closing. I'm still shocked and sadened by it. What a great company to work with and they have such quality merchandise. I will miss them tremendously.
I have 2 of their background stamps and they are very well made. But the reality is hobbies and other non-essential purchases have take a hit in this economy.
A company may have great products and their customers may love them, but the customers simply don't have the money they had in the past
Walmart all but eliminated their scrap book department ; SU had to lay off people; a couple of other stamps companies announced they are closing and now Cornish Heritage Farms is closing.
I wish them well , but I loved hearing their news and their great products. I hope someone else has the chance to get this company! wishing and hoping...
That is really unfortunate. I love their background stamps! Though I haven't been ordering on a regular basis ever since Kim Hughes left (love her sets!!!) Hope they find a buyer.
I got the letter too and am so sad! Sounds like they are doing very well and have not been hit by the economy which doesn't surprise me because they are a great company! Sounds like their lives are changing, and they are moving on. How fun and exciting for them. I pray they are blessed in their new adventures and that someone amazing can step up to buy CHF, and we see it continue on!

CHF has great background stamps, a huge variety. The email said they're taking new orders through July 15th only. Just picked up a couple more background stamps that I couldn't live without!
I'm on the DT at CHF and it is indeed sad news. It is not financially driven, the company is doing well. Richard and Liz are pursuing new things. We are all hoping that a buyer steps forward so that the wonderful images they carry will continue to be available. What a great opportunity for someone!

I hope someone buys the company and the stamps will still be available, but I just placed a huge order in case that doesn't happen! I already have quite a collection of their stamps but wanted to fill in the "blanks" with some of the rest of the lines (like the B&O Railroad stuff that you can't get anywhere else) and some of the Kim Hughes stuff that will work with what I already have. Didn't want to place an order now but in case it was now or never, I chose to go with now. I still need to go back and look at all the wonderful creations in the gallery before that stuff goes away (like if the whole website shuts down).
Very sad indeed...I bought my first unmounted stamp from them in early 2005 and they are just the greatest folks to work with...I am thankful it is not because of the economy and that they have a further goal in site...I wish them well in what ever they do....

I just placed my first order with them a couple of weeks ago...got a Thomas Kinkade one for Christmas and several others....That is really sad. They have a ton of great stamps and I agree with the person who was talking about the backgrounders...those are fabulous! I hope someone does buy them but I'm thinking I may have to place an order now...I wish them well.
I am going to order a couple of background stamps next week. I need to look over the entire site to decide what else I want. If no one buys the company this will be the last chance. I saw one birthday set that not2shabbydesgns posted that I like. They say that any stamp order will be accepted until July 15th so I have some time.
wow I am sad to. I have a lot a stamps yet to get myself and very little money right
now I which I could buy the company but I dont have the 6 digits to buy it. I can only
say who ever buys keeps the stamp going. we will miss Richard and Liz hope there next
adventure goes good for them
Ellen Hutson sells Cornish Heritage Farm stamps so you may be able to buy some that you want in the future from her. Hopefully she will stock up on them.
I have a limited budget too so I have to be selective in my purchases
my birthday is this month and i was going to get a cuttlebug but i want some of the thomas kincade stamps and a few others so cuttlebug will have to wait.
br3n
This is for anyone whose budget won't allow them to get all the Cornish Heritage Farms stamps they want before they close . I just checked Ellen Hutson's site and she has a ton of them and some are on sale .
The only ones I didn't find were the Thomas Kinkade or the Mushroom Lane stamps. Maybe she has them and I just couldn't find them.
I know I can't buy everything in two weeks that I would like to have and I am sure others are in the same situation.
Doesn't the message say they will be open until early August -- but just selling off what they already have pressed? So we can still buy after July 17? I guess I"m just unsure of how much stock they have ready to go, or if after July 17th it will be just a trickle of what is available now?

Yes - the sales after July 17th will be of whatever stock is on the shelves at that date so you'll be able to choose from what there is rather than necessarily being able to get exactly what's on your wish list, IYSWIM. You might get lucky and be able to get everything you wanted but you might not so if there's something you absolutely *must* have then you need to decide whether to gamble, I guess.
NwP - the Amazon.com listings are "marketplace" - they're fulfilled directly by CHF, not by Amazon so I think they'll just go away on the same time scale as Liz set out in the newsletter.
Like Tracy (LodiChick), I feel privileged to have been on the CHF design team for the last couple of years and I wish Liz and Richard all the best for their next adventures! Let's hope there's a buyer so the catalogue can go forward, too!
Here is another site that has the stamps after CHF closes. They have Backgrounders , Thomas Kinkade, Mushroom Lane, Elvis, Friendly Kritters , etc and EVERYTHING IS HALF PRICE
Look on the left frame for links to all of the stamps
I am also saddened by the closure of CHF. I love the designs and quality of their product. However, I wish them well and happpiness in their new ventures!
