Is it okay that I'm not making Christmas cards?
It's like the LAST thing I want to think about. But I'm a demo!!! Are people going to come after me?! :o
I guess I'd rather make a ton of little tags to give out, or spend my time making gifts over making cards. Do you think I'm nuts?

Why stress - I am making a hand full onyl which is a 100% increase over last year!
My attitude about cards - I lvoe to get them but never send them....
If I love ya enough to wish you a happy holiday I do one of three things.....
I SEE you and give you me wish in person
I CALL you with my wish
I see or call you after the 1st of teh year and apoligize for the oversight!!!
Smiles

There is enough stress this time of year. Starts when you buy the turkey for tomorrow - you can FEEL it in the stores.
Here's my logic for not making holiday cards:
If you can sew a seam you CAN buy clothes.
If you can cook you CAN eat out.
If I have dandilions in my yard I do NOT have to make wine.
Like my logic??

I'll be waiting by the phone, Kate!
Seriously, my demo, now upline, told me to start in July or just make some for close family/friends. Since I wasn't all that into stamping last Christmas, GASP, I bought enough cards after the holidays to send for a couple of years! I guess I better find them.
One year I actually sent a Christmas letter on Christmas stationery to family/friends that started with "Happy Valentine's Day" because I was so late!

I make only enough cards for my best customers and stamping friends. I draw the line there. Why stress?

I looked at this for 10 minutes trying to find out what it meant....I still don't get it...Dandelions and wine? help!
I confess...some folks will be getting my "Charlie Brown Christmas" cards from last year...BEFORE I was a demo...don't be mad if you are one of those lucky souls who gets a Snoopy card instead of a hand-stamped one. I still love you!!

I'm from waaaaay out in the country (Amish folk) in Pennsylvania & grew up with Martha Stewart as my mother.
We used to make wine with the dandelions that grew in our yard.
We hand spun carded (and sometimes naturally dyed) wool from the sheep that were from nearby farms. My mom was 'a Martha' when Martha was a stockbroker!
Anybody else make wine from dandelions or did I just have a crazy parent?

My dad experimented for years making all kinds of wines.. I remember one summer bending over and picking and picking and picking those darn little flowers. He also made wine from wheat, elderberries, grapefuit, white and dark grapes, and more that I just can't think of right now. And yes, they were all very very good.
I also remember when I was very young riding on my brother's skate board in the basement, jumping off of it and it hitting dead center into a large 5 gallon jar of some very expensive wine. My mom knew what happened right away, when the smell rose up the steps into the kitchen. I think I was grounded for at least a month for that one.

Your not crazy!
I am a demo as well & didn't make cards last year. Actually I did make some very simple ones, but forgot to send them.
I say if they seem like work skip them this year. If you want to do something do a letter on your computer you can mass produce & run a roller wheel down the side. I love to get cards, but this time of year you get so many you don't appreciate them as much. A letter about how everyone is doing is better, because you feel like you had a chance to catch up. Does that make sense?

I think you're smart...I have half of mine done and have NO motivation to make the rest. I would be harassed if I didn't make them for the people that know I make them...however, I agree with Serieka - Enjoy the season!!! = )

Ok, last year I decided not to make any. But I got comments about what kind of cards I was going to send by people at my church while they were passing out theres. So on the Saturday evening before Christmas I worked my butt off making a very simple and easy card. It was miserable. I stuck a picture of our family inside. Had too many left over. But, I plan on doing some this year. But not all the same. I bought some new Christmas sets this year and I want to play. So I am going to make 2 of each that I make and then send them out. But I will probably hand most of them out. It's also good advertisement. Not many people around here know about SU. It gives me an excuse to play. Plus I can show all the samples to my workshop attenders and drive them crazy for the sets.

Nah! If you don't want to, then don't! The more you feel obligated the less fun stamping will be. I promised myself that if being a demo made stamping not fun then I wouldn't do it any more. If making christmas cards makes stamping not fun, then don't do it! I can't make a bunch....almost all of mine are different because I just can't seem to do the same card over and over....although it would be easier!

A little French phrase comes to mind from my highschool days: Chacun sont gout. (I hope I spelled that right) It means: To each his own. So, if you don't feel like making cards, then don't. Christmas can be stressful enough without adding to it.

Life's too short to spend that much time doing something you don't want to do! Spend that time with your loved ones instead and count your blessings.

Thanks everyone for your replies...especially the funny ones. ;)
I'm still thinking I'm not going to do it. I still feel like I should. Oh, well. I'll get over it.
Good news is that I'm getting more 12 x 12 paper soon. That's what I'll be doing this year. Hee hee hee!
