Hi from Deb, I'm new
Hi everyone
I've just joined and thought I'd introduce myself. I live in Sydney, Australia and share a house with my Dad and 2 very spoilt cats.
I've just started making my Christmas cards, 115 this year which may sound like a lot but it was 189 the year before! Yes I am certifiable.
I've been making cards for about 10 years but have been looking for other like minded people to chat to about card making so here I am. I also cross stitch which I learnt in high school.

Hi Deb and welcome from across the ditch! I live in Auckland and can relate to the spoilt cats as I love cats too! You will find heaps of people here happy to chat, encourage, and inspire.

Hi Deb,
I am from Sydney too thought the last few years before moving overseas was based in Perth.
I love card making too - and dabble in the cross stitch as well.

Hi
Thanks for the welcome Stephanie, Elisha & Shaz
Looks like a fun place to be I'm sitting here with my binder of Christmas card designs I've ripped out of magazines and hoping that inspiration will strike.
*Only* 5 cards a week for 24 weeks, I can do that! Can't I?
Cheers, Deb

Now that's a good way to go. So making 5 a week of one design should be a breeze!

Welcome Deb!!
Christmas is the only time I will mass produce and I usually do them over our Thanksgiving break. Then I stress all year about the design
Anyway, welcome! Put your Christmas designs in the gallery!
Let me know if you need any help on the site.

Yes - the end of November - I'm a procrastinator.
I do *think* about it all year though.

LOL Yer but ripping them out of mags and putting them in a binder doesn't quite count! LOL
(sigh) just ordered 3 more stamps, sometimes culling craft magazines isn't such a good idea!

I really just pick them up if the cover attracts my attention particularly the Christmas editions.
The mags I regularly get are:
Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft
Australian Papercraft Essentials (favourite)
Australian Simply Cards
Beautiful Cards (UK)
Cards & crafts for Christmas
Creative Cardmaking & Papercraft
But I had to stop the subscriptions, it was just getting ridiculous

Oh those magazines sound scrummy - nothing like that available where I live.
I must pick up some when I am home in Australia later this year.

Australian Papercraft Essentials is my favourite magazine, the cards are just gorgeous and so cute.
You should check if they will post to you and subscribe, I'm sure they have a website.
Want me to check for you?

Hi ya Deb! Looks like you've got yourself a nice little aussie gathering here. LOL
Welcome to the forum. Sadly I havent made a card in weeks which is very unusual for me. I must start to get some work done on some of my chrissy cards soon. I'm from Queensland.

Thanks Deb, they probably do send overseas - but the postage cost is usually more than the mag costs. Making it an expensive exercise.
Plus with the customs it either does not make it too me or with the restrictions on "skin" here they are likely to take to it with a black marker and make sure everyone is covered up. :giggle:

Its a rotten cold and miserable day here today, just the sort of day I'd rather be at home making cards but alas work calls :(
If anyone is interested I have a card making group, its only a week old so sort of empty right now :(

Hey you're a Sheldon Cooper fan, that's good enough for me
Your foreign exchagne student sounds yummy.
I've cut out the papers for my first 5 but not actually made any yet, I have a birthday card to do this weekend.

Oh man Big Bang is one of the best shows on tv! I'm always afraid we'll wake the kids laughing so hard when DH and I finally get a chance to watch.

I've seen those commercials but not the show. I'm in for reality tv during the summer. Hell's Kitchen, Big Brother, pretty much anything that I can just stare at at the end of the day lol
I do love true crime type tv tho. First 48, Crime 360, Bait Car, Police Women of...
