Default sizzix quilting dies?

Ok-

Can someone please tell me I am NOT crazy..I swear a few weeks ago I was looking on the sizzix.com website and they had all these different kinds of shape dies specifically geared towards cutting fabric to create quilts. Well I can't seem to find them on the site anymore..can someone provide a link or at least confirm that they saw the same things I did??

Thanks!

I don't know if they have been released yet but here is an article about them on the Sizzix Website.

I saw a large end-cap display of these at our JoAnn's last week and since I didn't know they even existed before this, I was totally baffled as to why cutting dies were in the sewing section of the store. If I recall correctly they were a really fun color (maybe lime green?) and they looked yummy! However, if I was a quilter with no scrapbooking/stamping knowledge I wouldn't even know how they were used. There were no die cutting machines displayed with them, which I thought was really strange...how would the novice even know what they needed to use them? :???:

They looked like a cool product and if I was still quilting I would be sorry tempted to try them....of course, I may be sorely tempted to try them with paper.

Thanks for sharing the link.. I'm off to see what new products they have.

I wanted to get to JoAnn's tonight, but wasn't able to make it.. glad that I read this, so I can look into these as well.

Wow, that is good to know! I just "assumed" the dies I spotted were a sizzix product and would fit in any machine a sizzix original fits in. Thanks for sharing this info.

I guess it makes sense that they would want to sell a different machine to quilters so it could accomodate the larger projects that they work with. How very exciting to see a scrapbook/stamping product repurposed for another art/craft -- it's usually the other way around! I can't tell you how many of my quilting tools have found a place of importance in my stamp room, they are too numerous to mention.

I have the old sizzix dies that I believe were discontiued several months ago, they were quilt type dies, they are down in my room but I think they are purple, but they are the same size as the large red original dies used in the oldest version of the sizzix.
I didn't realize they had new ones, I will have to check those out

Default Can't find them either

I found the quilting dies on the Sizzix site but the one I want: the 5x5 square: is not available on their site and I can't find anyone who sells it. Anyone having any better luck?

Joannes has them online. They also have a 50% coupong for an online item so you can get the 5 inch square for like 15.00.

The Sizzix machines being marketed to quilters are called Westminsters. There's a Big Shot-size one and a Big Shot Pro-size one. The only difference between the standard BS/BSP and the Westminster BS/BSP is the color -- and the Westminster BSP comes with extended accessories to use the extended quilting dies. (The blue BSP has accessories for the 12x12 dies.)

They *can* fit a Big Shot if you cut them down. I saw a video on You Tube by someone who had cut them down by about 1/2 inch so they would fit through the Big Shot. They're made of wood so you can just use a jigsaw to cut them. Then she showed you how to sandwich them for the Big Shot so they'd work.
