Big thanks to Dawn L for filling in last week. We had a really nice weekend, spent with family and friends.
~ Getting Personal ~
This weeks challenge has a bit of a twist to it. Your first mission is to create a card/project that is personal to someone (think photos, names, school colors, etc).Next, you are to use YOUR favorite technique to create the card/project.
When you upload your project, please give us details as to how the card/project is personal and also what technique you used.
Pretty simple, huh? I think so
Okay, Holly...you made me really think on this one...And, I LOVE this challenge!
I used a sentiment that means a LOT to me as the focal point of this card...(I explained it all in my description...)
Here is my card! I love the beach and since we live right by it I thought this would be appropriate! I also love paper piecing! Thanks for the fun challenge!
What a cool challenge Holly! I will play later today after work. I should be able to figure out my favorite technique by then. LOL

i was able to play along today!! i hope i followed the rules close enough!! I made this card with a specific person in mind - she will be receiving this card, that's for sure! and one of my absolute favorite techniques is sponging.
Oh Holly you have no idea your timing on this challenge. This is the anniversary of my father's death 12 years ago. He was a great Concert Pianist and I use his old but disintegrated music in many of my art projects. Also with Father's Day coming up I have been thinking of him a lot. Every year I send my Mom a card near this date to cheer her up and this will be the card I send. Encore Dad!.
Your challenge had me a bit stumped at first. I made a card for Rick, who is having a hard week ahead of him. I thought the sentiment will make him smile. So thank you for the challenge!
As for favorite technique, I love distressing, sponging, sewing and coloring with copics. I did all that on this card.
This card is for my niece who overcame a terrible childhood and never lost hope. My favorite technique is to stamp. Is that a technique? I also love my BIG SHOT machine and I'm warming up to heat embossing.
Here's mine and thanks for a walk down memory lane.

Oh my! It's 1:15 a.m. in Texas! But I haven't gone to bed yet, so it's still Monday, right?
I've been wanting to make more iris cards and this was a perfect excuse, especially since I had to make a loving birthday card for a special friend. So here it is. Thanks for the challenge!
Val
Interesting challenge, I generally make cards with a specific person in mind. With a friends birthday coming up, making it truly personalised was an interesting challenge. So this time I decided to put his initial on the card, and make it the feature on the card.
A fav technique at the moment is sponging, so I sponge daubed the outside of the card, and the layers of the initial to give depth.
Really pleased with the result, thanks for the challenge!

HERE is my card for the technique lovers challenge this week. The sentiment has very special meaning to me personally....I reflect on moments in my life that have been sad but then I remember the moments that have been the happiest of happy and those are the ones that bring me back and literally take my breath away.

Holly, I was totally inspired by the photo you had on your card. I did a photo collage on mine. You can see my card here, and thanks for the fun challenge!
