Oh wow! I'm so excited about all the great cards in the gallery!

Just a little NEWS: There is a chance that I will be late posting the challenge this evening. That also means the deadline is being extended to 7:00 PM EDT. I'm hoping someone finds out that little surprise with excitement.

WHY: My son's special ed bus had an accident this afternoon. He appears fine, but I'll be taking him to the after hours clinic for x-rays just in case. I need to make sure he doesn't have a concussion or whip lash.

Looks like I made a boo-boo. I forgot about no upload Sunday. Soooooo..... to join us at the amusement park (CAS DT search), the deadline has been moved to Wednesday at 5:00PM EDT. Please do the first challenge and second challenge. The second challenge is the same as this week's regularly posted CAS challenge.

Welcome to CAS Amusement Park! Are you ready for a thrilling adventure? Do you have your sunglasses, sunscreen, bathing suit & towel, your camera... and of course your crafting supplies?

At the end of this adventure, we will have seen some amazing eye-candy, found a bunch of new guest designers, and welcomed our new Summer 2010 CAS design team! How fun is that? Just as much as paper-crafting!!!

I hope you have your tickets, because we're ready to go through those fun rotating gate thingies. :p


CHALLENGE #1 Posted Friday, May 21

As you're walking into an amusement park, the first thing I usually encounter is a bunch of photographers offering to take group portraits. So, this challenge is two-fold.

1. Your card needs to have a person, character, or group as your focal image. If you're making a card, a stamped image is perfect. If you're making a scrapbook page, a photo is perfect... but just one photo.
2. Walking into an amusement park is usually a bold & bright mix of colors, patterns, and textures. Please add a tiny bit of bold flashy ribbon. Bonus points if you are also able to add texture while still keeping it CAS.
3. Please remember that while all of these elements are fun, the idea is to keep it clean & simple. ;)

This challenge is the same as this week's regularly scheduled CAS challenge. See below for the new deadline. I forgot about no upload Sunday. The new deadline will be for both challenges 1 & 2 and we'll go from there.

The continuing list of stampers will be revealed on Wednesday evening and the 3rd Challenge will be announced.

Now.... I want you to listen to me. This is NOT a popularity contest. As a special ed teacher, I love rooting for the underdog as well as long time stampers. Do NOT assume you are not good enough.

Standard Expectations of a DT member: I need you to post your sample for each challenge on Sunday evening between 10PM-11PM EDT. You may miss 1 or 2 weeks do to illness or emergencies. Having experience posting threads is not mandatory, but it is helpful. We can teach you. (This would be needed if I am unable to do it for some unexpected reason.) You will be participating in choosing the challenges for the season during your 2nd week as a DT member. The summer DT starts the first Monday in June and ends the last Monday in August.

Get your bags of paper crafting supplies packed. We're heading for a thrill-seeking adventure!We're going to the amusement park! Don't forget those swim suits for those fun water rides!

To help you get your bags packed, here are some supplies you won't want to forget:

* Ribbon - Fun, splashy, thrilling, and one-of-a-kind ribbon!
* Any tool(s) that can add texture to your card
* Accessories that can add dimension to your card
* Items that would assist you in making an interactive, moving card

I'm amazed that it's that time again... a new adventure for a new design team. With all the talent we have here, I know it's going to be a good time!

If you're planning on joining the trip, get your ticket by posting to this thread. (posting not required... just thought it would be fun ;) )

More Info will be coming on Friday night complete with a calendar and the first challenge. :cool:

Look at all the excitement going on here in the CAS Amusement Park! My favorite ride is an old roller coaster (not too big and not as fast as the modern day ones. ). I'm heading there now.

For this challenge, you have the option of making one or two cards.

SUM2010CAS3
Make a CAS card using pop-up dots to create height and dimension on your card.

SUM2010CAS4
Create a CAS card with a movable part (Ex: a spinner card)

Due to the holiday, the deadline is next Tuesday @ 5:00 PM EDT.

I will choose the finalists and post the next challenge the same evening.

I want to mention challenge #4. I am sooo blown away by the talent and creativity. And to think I almost didn't make the challenge thinking it would be too hard. Wow... I'm so glad I included it. I just want to say 2 things about it....

1) It doesn't matter which 3 of the 20 makes it to the design team this particular season, they are all deserving of the honor and fun.

2) I have no idea how I will choose 10 finalists. I'm really, really glad that I'm not choosing the final 3. LOL!

Thank you for all who have participated. You make all the time and effort worth it... seriously!

Even though I'm not a contestant.... my heart is racing. Of course, that may have to do with Cindy's phone call and the realization that it's Tuesday and I'm late. :rolleyes: I am sooooooo sorry. I have seen all of the cards and they are fabulous! This is so hard! Each of the semi-finalists would be excellent DT members and probably will be in the near future!

It's the hottest part of the day and it's time for the water rides! The final challenge is to use water as your inspiration. You may use an image with water in it, but you don't have to. You could use a glossy embellishment as well. Be creative! This is an inspiration challenge... let it take you to your best creation. :cool:

The CAS challenges on Monday has a design team that changes every three months. This is an event that uses challenges to decide who will be on the next DT.

VSN... what a walk down memory lane. I used to be addicted to them and was part of the very 1st one!

This is nothing like VSN. After the first challenge, I will choose a portion of the stampers to move on to round 2. These stampers will do the next challenge. Following this challenge, I will again narrow the field of stampers for the next challenge until we have our DT. Last season we had 3 challenges and the former DT generously helped me choose the 3 winners from 10 fabulous finalists. It was soooo difficult to choose.

Oh... and the challenges are a few days apart.
