What is CAS?
CAS is an acronym for Clean and Simple.
There are different ways people view CAS. It is very subjective. There is no list of rules that will fit everyone’s personal definition. The following are possible guidelines, only. Please do not feel afraid of playing in the CAS challenge or debate with yourself if you’ve created a CAS card. If it is a CAS card to you, put CAS in the keyword box.
1. Clean: the design is uncluttered with lots of white or open space. Simple: having a clear focal point without a lot going on to detract from it.
OR
2. simple in design regardless of the number of embellishments or how long it takes to color, stitch or to use a special technique
OR
3. can be copied and mass produced fairly quickly… usually without a lot of coloring, layers, embellishments, tools and/or techniques
OR
4. any combination of the above

This is both a sad and an exciting week. It's sad because it's the last week for the spring 2010 CAS design team. I have enjoyed working with these ladies and will miss them. It's also exciting because on Friday I will announce our new DT for the summer! Thank you to all who have participated in the DT search and in the weekly challenges. Without you, this wouldn't be so much fun.
CAS Theme Challenge: Heroes
On Memorial Day in the USA, we honor the people who have served in the armed forces and lost their lives. Today, I thought it would be fun to honor them and/or our everyday heroes at home. I chose to make my card for my husband.
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

I am so touched by this challenge Jen - my hubby, like so many others SCSers, is overseas protecting our freedom this Memorial day. Thank you so much for this sweet tribute.
Thanks for looking and have a Blessed Memorial Day!!

Currently designing for some great companies!!!
Shame on me! I don't think I have any patriotic stamps. I do have star, maybe I could work something up with them. Or I might have to make a card for Dad's day for my daughter (she is the ultimate Daddy's Girl).

Happy (early) Anniversary! Sorry you can't spend it together. I'm grateful for his service to our country.
Hugs,
Val

THANK YOU to you, your hubby, and your family for giving up special moments and time together to serve our country! I truly appreciate it. HUGS! Ash-

Thanks for a great challenge, Jen. And an even bigger thanks to all of those men and women sacrificing for our country, especially all the SCSers who are keeping the home fires burning.
Thank you for a very special CAS challenge - it was very special to make a card for our dads and remember what they did serving our country. Here's my card:
I have a couple hero cards - both that I'll be sending to Operation Write Home. The eaglet card is a digi from the OWH blog hop this weekend, and the red, white, and blue hedgie is just because he's cute! :-)
...but it works perfectly for this one as well! I love how this card turned out and I hope you like it too! Thanks for looking! Happy Stampin! God Bless!
Another great challenge Jen, especially when it makes us take a step back and really appreciate the people in our lives.
here is my card: My Everyday Hero
Here is a basket of red, white & blue flowers to honor those who have fought and are fighting to insure our freedom. It's not very CAS. Hope I won't be booed too bad!
