Default The same old question.........

Vellum has been a challenge to adhere invisibly, I generally use brads, eyelets, creative cardstock, etc. to attach vellum to cards. I don't own a Xyron which seems to be the way many attach vellum. Anyway, last night I tried the Scotch Vellum tape, it's nearly invisible, which seems a good thing. However, I let it sit overnight, and went to go see how secure it was this morning, and the vellum came off without a fight. I followed the directions on the package and applied to the cs first, burnished it, pulled the protective tape off and then adhered the vellum. Has anyone here had success with this vellum tape?

TIA,
Valerie

I had the same problem, what a waste of a purchase. I still can see it, and it doesn't hold. oh well, back to "creative attachment"

I have a spray. Must spray outside or inside a box--super sticky. I even wear rubber gloves because I get it on my fingers. I might just be messy. It looks great though. Got it at a scrapbook store and can says, great for vellum on it.

Creative Memories has a new "Clear Photo Split" that I used this past weekend - The vellum had an image on it but I could not see he photo split. I have not used it where the vellum does not have an image on it..

Default Scotch Velum

I've also used the scotch velum with no problems ... nothing to hide the tape, and I could not see the adhesive. It worked great!

I haven't tried the tape although I do keep meaning to buy it....maybe if I wasn't so distracted by the eyelets that are next door to it at the store I'd have a roll by now LOL.

I do use and have had great luck with Elmer's Craft Bond which is a spray adhesive. I actully just used it a few minutes ago with good luck (and it is even holding a couple of my fingers together as wasn't a neat sprayer by any means!)

I've found that the Xyron double sided tape tabs (in the blue dispenser) work wonderfully on vellum. I like this much better than the Scotch vellum tape and is much easier on the pocketbook than using the xyron machine to adhere vellum.

I've used the vellum tape and haven't had any problems.

Maybe different types of vellum work differently with the tape. :?

I really like the success I have with the Scotch brand vellum tape. I didn't think it was very cheap but it does last a long time. Give it a try

I use adhesive spray with good results. It smells bad and makes a mess if your not careful to protect the surrounding area but it does the job!
