MAY10VSNB ~ Friday, May 28 ~ 7:00pm EDT ~ Flower Pot Card
MAY10VSNB ~ Friday, May 28 ~ 7:00pm EDT ~ Flower Pot Card
Title: Flower Pot Card
Hostess: Patty aka PKPenn
Keyword: MAY10VSNB
Day/Date: Friday, May 28
Time: 7:00pm EST
My challenge is one of my favorite cards, the Flower Pot card. Click HERE for a SCS tutorial.
However, I'm adding a twist. You need to somehow texturize your flowers without using DSP. You can dry emboss, heat emboss, stamp, crunch, crinkle, whatever, you just have to texture the flowers in your flower pot.
View the Gallery for this Challenge HERE.
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday May 31st.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, MAY10VSND, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your layout is seen.
Have fun!
Patty

Trying to help out...
Hi~
I am trying to help you out for a change. There are two different Keywords for this challenge listed. It is an adorable card! I think I will be growing a garden of potted flowers!
Thanks!

KEYWORD should be MAY10VSNB not MAY10VSND
Sometimes challenges are moved around to accomodate all the hostesses. Thanks for pointing this out...we'll get it corrected.

Rrrrringgg! Oh there went the timer, and I've just finished my flower pot with felt flowers. Just in case the felt wasn't enough texture, I ran the flowers through the swiss dot embossing folder. I'll post the photo when I catch my breath.
Hey Crafty Math Chick! I've been wondering if you would get to play with us this weekend.

This is one of those techniques I would never try without being challenged by VSN. Thanks for the challenge. It went pretty quickly and I was feeling pretty good about my card until I saw the next one in the gallery is a masterpiece by Beate and mine looks pretty meager compared to her's. Oh well, it was my first try. Here's my Sunny Flower Pot.

Well, I also had to stop and eat! And I better start reading directions better. I picked out the color of cardstock to go with the DP.... then I saw we weren't supposed to use DP, so I used the CBem folder for the texture. Hope you like my Flower Pot Smile.
Thanks again Patty for a great fun challenge!

This is my first time with this technique as well! I had some tissue paper flowers laying around that just needed inking, so mine went together pretty quickly. Thanks for the great challenge and getting us to get out of our comfort zones!
