I just purchased some tiny jars of Fun Flock from the $1 bin at Michaels. There are four jars of color in one pack. I haven't had a chance to play around with it, and I wondered if anyone had any tips for using it. Thanks in advance!
Flock works really well with Quickie Glue Pens - just add glue to your image, sprinkle on flock, press down, shake off excess and your done Sometimes flocking can be stubborn and cling to paper so an old paintbrush comes in handy to clean up your image. **This stuff is like sparkles and can be messy ;) **
It IS hard to get off the card, so I agree that a paintbrush comes in handy. But the tip that works best for me is sometimes you get an area that is kind of bare, so I dump a whole lot of flock on the area I want to cover and then press it down with my fingers or the cap of the glue pen or the back of a spoon so that it really sticks
to the area you want it in. You have to get full coverage in the area you want to flock or it does not look good. Unless you want it to look like a man with a bad comb-over. :-)
I love using it with SU's Fox & Friends. Flocking really looks good on any image that would be soft to the touch IRL. I've seen it used with clouds and flowers as well and it looks great.
Flock is alot of fun and easy to work with. Also you can pat your Heat Embossing buddy in the area you want to flock -it helps with unwanted flock everywhere you don't want it. I use the Quickie Pen or Scor-Tape and then pour it on, press it down in the spots I wanted coverage then shake it off, use a paint brush - pour the remaining back in the bottle.

sometimes flowers.
You can also stamp right on top of Flock then cut it out for embellishment. Easy way to make suede paper in any color and as small of a piece as needed. I have taken 5X5 sheets of Scor-Tape sheets and poured fun flock on it, brayer it down and save the remaining. Now I have a sheet large enough to use on my card, to stamp on, to cut into embellishments.
I love Fun Flock or any type of flock and find it only a little more difficult to manage then Embossing powder. Actually in my mind they are equal, one reason I sometimes either use strips or sheets of Scor-Tape to make Suede paper to use on my card.
I love fun flock! If you want some bling, in a separate container, pour in some flock and mix with glitter (my fav is Dazzling Diamonds)...then you get a little shimmer! I especially love this technique with white flock to make it look like sparkly snow.
hello, a bit late to this thread however I was looking for something else and well I am here. I have found that if you are going to send the card (with fun flock on it) and have the card in an envelope it is worth giving the image a light spray with some hair spray as it saves the flocking coming off when the card is pulled from the envelope. The same for the flower soft, I use that with for a fluffy feather look on the whipper snapper chicken stamps.... hope this helps!
