We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun!
I volunteered to host this week's challenge, so bear with me as I am a "hostess virgin". Cindy sent me wonderful directions and I hope that I follow them correctly.
Here's My Story
1. Seth is a single sailor who needs help finding his way. You see he is facing 42,000 waves from a big storm and his ship is taking on water!! Yikes!! Larry the Lighthouse keeper and Sirius, his trusty Newfoundland dog stand ready to help Seth if he shipwrecks.
2. Here's where the teapotters come in! We can help by sailing our ships over to Seth and throwing him some life preservers, or if you tend to get seasick, head on over to the lighthouse, and bring dry clothes (you know what it's like to walk in soggy shoes??), or food, or tea (or brandy)...you know anything Seth could use.
3. For added inspiration, think about making cards of encouragement for grads facing uncertain times, words of love and thanks to Dad who saw you through storms of life, get well, or sympathy cards.
4. Since I was a teacher for 33 years, I have to mention that a great book for elementary age kids is Sirius, the Dog Star, by Angeli Perrow (found here).
Use Keyword MMTPT94 in your upload and post a comment so we can all see your card!
Hope I did this right!

Thanks for stepping up to the plate! Love the challenge this week... right up my alley. Or maybe I should say right up my anchor line. Off to bed now, where I'll be dreaming of sailboats and lighthouses!

Oh, this sounds great - I'll have to decide between boat or lighthouse. I don't think I can fit both except on big card. Dress-making till lunch, so I'll have my thinking cap on while I stitch. Thanks for stepping in.
When I think of Sirius, I think of one f the stories in one of the Mary Poppins books. And is it Sirius in the 2nd Hundred and One Dalmatians book? No suitable dog stamps, alas.
hey there...this is a fab teapot and story. Seth could sure use some teapartiers help. I just knew I HAD to have that coast to coast set I found on B/S/T forum...heehee...now see, I did have a need for it....can't play until tomorrow but will be thinkin
I am calling out the troops /// make that ships. Boats? I got a really fun stamp cube with 4 kinds of boats on it for my birthday and this is the perfect reason to ink it up. It has a sloop on one side and I have no clue for the names of the other 3 kinds of floating vessels --- but they will be pressed into service for this card. Literally pressed into a nice black stamp pad ...
AND NOW A TEAPOT TUESDAY BIRTHDAY TOAST
TO THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAY GIRLS
(KEEP THOSE PINKY'S UP GIRLS!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
KNurse - 5/26
Darn it! I am a little late gettin' this here.....We have another birthday girl this week.
It's coming Sheri...won't be long until you are blowing out candles and making wishes!
Great challenge Barbara...thanks so much for filling in! Love your widdo teapot and card!
Light of the World
I made it, without taking too much water on board.
Now off to find the recipe for those peanut energy bars I promised to bring along!
Thanks, Barbara for hosting the tea party today. My hubby & I are headed to the Canadian maritimes for a bit of R & R next month. What a great challenge to get me in the right mindset for that.
Finally made it to the teapot. I will be back with my comments later on. I didn't make up a funny story today, because I was out cheering on my best friend who lost her dad last week. Though we did laugh, we cried, and I was so happy to be there for her. She has been there for me for almost 43 years now.
Barbara I found your story very good and it fit the way I feel right now. Helping someone through a storm. I feel priviledged to be able to do so.
Thank you girls for your support, your comments have been very uplifting!

Have no fear Seth, Surfin Granny is here!
She's a lean saggy surfin machine
the wrinkliest you've ever seen.
She can hang ten then
paddle out and do it again.
She's on her way to rescue you
she'll dry you off so you don't Achoo!

Hi Fran, My new computer will not open some files, this sneak peek is one of them. Could you write some kind of clue either in this thread or as a PM that gives a peek without opening the barn door and letting all the horses out. Thanks a million, Elizabeth
Thank you, Elizabeth for asking for an extra hint...(Please, Fran--maybe I wouldn't be late AGAIN for the next tea party) I can open the file...but I
have absolutely no idea what I am looking at...so it's not helping me much...

OK Teapartiers, after successfully rescuing Seth, don't head home too quickly. . . that's the hint for next week. . the party is still going strong. . .
OK after opening the sneak peek and squinting at the computer screen, then increasing it to 200 %, then to 500%, all I can say is it looks like either an XXX photo or the back end of a donkey.
Either way ... Tuesday is going to be interesting. ( did I mention I have a new pair of glasses on order at Lenscrafters? Hope they come in by Tuesday!)

Have no fear, by Tuesday you won't need your glasses. It's not XXX, I got censored on one of my subscriptions when I posted in the thread that my female dog won Reserve Champion in her class 12 1/2 - 15 " B****es. I wasn't cursing, that's the "technical" term in the Dog world.
OK so for those of you that can't find your glasses, are waiting for Lenscrafters to make good on their one hour promise, or just because you asked for a hint . . .
