SU and CTMH Color Comparison

For those of you who use both SU! and CTMH papers and inks, do you find similarities in the colors? Can some colors be substituted from one brand for the other? Is there a color comparison chart that you know of?

How about PTI or Gina K to CTMH comparisons?

I've been using the others for awhile but am about to place my first CTMH order. So I'm in need of any/all advice for cross-over colors that complement one another and to avoid duplicates.

I would like to find cardstock something close to Sage Shadow in a nice weight to use for card bases now that sage is going to be retired. Any suggestions?

There aren't really any overlaps from SU! to CTMH. The colors are all really pretty different, especially seeing as CTMH is white core and SU is solid core.

Just so know that CTMH cardstock is thinnest of all you mentioned and it is white core. I love CTMH products and i am in a monthly club but I do not buy their cardstock. It is not for paper projects and you cannot do alot of layers on cards when using it for a base. --BUT it is perfect for scrpabooking.

PTI & GinaK are the heaviest cardstocks. They do have comparable colors to SU. Both of these companies have white cardstock that is awesome! I use nothing else on my cards. It is also heavy enought o use as bases.

SU does have the largest colorway though.

Though you can compare those colors listed above, none of them are an exact match. SU's colors are exclusive to them, as are CTMH's colors. For instance, CTMH's chocolate is a bit greener than SU's chocolate chip. They do not match, not even remotely. Moonstruck is significantly lighter than Brilliant Blue.

Having been a demo for both companies, I see good uses for either. CTMH CS distresses nicely, and seeing as the core is white, you can do some really cool techniques with it. SU CS is heavier and better for boxes and other projects. I find it is too heavy for my liking for layering on cards or in scrapbooks. Good luck finding what works best for you!
