Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites for Week Ending May 2, 2010
Welcome to this week's Clean and Simple Favorites Thread! Everyone is invited to share links to their favorite Clean and Simple gallery uploads from the past week. It's a great way to celebrate the clean and simple style amidst all thousands of gorgeous weekly uploads.
Here are some of my favorites to get us started!
biggan blew me away with her use of wire on this card...not simple to execute but very simple to the eye and amazingly artistic and creative
PaperInBloom made a set of one-layer cards that are delightfully fresh and summery; and another set using trees with colorful blooms
katolejnik made a whimsical Dreaming of You card that is spectacularly composed
krystie lee posted a bunch of A Muse cards this week and this leafy branch was my favorite; or maybe this one was my favorite; or perhaps this one
Kreations by Kris used a new SU set and a fresh color combo on her CAS From the Heart card
scoopy's use of ink on her beautifully CAS marigold card is beyond cool, as is her Sparkle Fish card, too!
willosmama made a cute-cute-cute cluck-cluck-cluck card that made me chuckle
girlgeek101 knocked me outa my chair with her orange birthday card...it's got texture, pattern from a punch, and glorious white space, too!
JulieHRR got A Muse-y with her gawgeous Flowers card
Jennifer Styles went dramatically clean and graphic on her Just to Say card
Ms Danielle used my favorite butterflies with a stamp I've never seen and MUST NOW HAVE on her totally fabulous Smile! card
fionna51 took a fairly detailed sketch from Waltzingmouse and made it fresh and CAS for a baby card
catcrazy used incredible detail with her coloring, border punch, pearls, ribbon and embossing on a fresh and pretty CAS card
alliohran used 5th Ave Floral, a fresh color scheme, and dazzling diamonds to make a completely perfect CAS card
RN4BBS did the One-Layer Wednesday challenge from my blog and made a stunningly CAS glitter-bomb card that's simply amazing (and proves that the cleanest cards often make the biggest messes!)
eshac loves white space, and so do I...especially her use of it on her Life's a Picnic card!
ceedee may not like orange but it sure likes her, as shown on her CAS64 orange and shimmery birthday card
ksmile1978 made a kraft and orange birthday card with lots of pretty texture and that uber-cool MS monarch butterfly punch
cricketeer supposedly CASEd one of my cards, but in fact, she blew mine away with her lovely rearrangement of the design, choice of paper, and color scheme for her birthday wishes card
paushdesign used My Cute Stamps to make a fun and dimensional butterfly card
amykilbreath made her own crocheted flower for her lovely and CAS Happy Birthday Boo card
ThatGirl finally started her gallery and this happy and adorable Owl card jumped right into my favorites
stampingout posted a Happy Day card that totally makes me happy!
MissNicki made a vintage CAS card that is so pretty with its layered flower
sam.2001 used a ruffly ribbon technique, piercing and distressing to make her CAS heart card a real stand-out
DandI93 used an orange background on her punched border and orange butterflies to make her CAS64 card perfectly happy
bonnierose kept her yellow and white flower card simply beautiful
Tami Mayberry's What's Cooking card is paper piecing at its finest...and CAS-est!
Hmmm, I'm not done yet, but I'll go ahead and post now to get the thread going. It was an AWESOME week in the gallery!
Thank you so much Susan for mentioning my happy day card!

Thank You
Thank you so much for the mentions Susan, you are tooooo kind ...
To be included in your list when there are so many other very talented ladies here on SCS is humbling. It is very much appreciated and such a lovely surprise on this somewhat dreary Sunday here in the UK.

thank you so much Susan for mentioning my Orange delight card, it's extra special knowing how fabulous all your CAS cards are. big hugs today to you, Irene
Thanks so much, Susan...for the mention and for the challenge!
Funny.....the LateBlossom fan club had a little meeting yesterday! At a National Scrapbook Day event, the teacher of the make n' take (Lisa from Flat Fish Paper Arts blog) and I met and discovered that we are both fans of Simplicity! Small world!
I only had one lone CAS card in my favs :( but it certainly deserved to be there!!! LateBlossom's 'Flocky Scene' card really jumped out at me!!! Now I'll have to go see all the other beauties that I missed.....

Oh. My. Gosh. To have YOU, Susan, list MY card, based on YOUR card, among your favourites for the week absolutely makes my day! (And it was already quite a good day! :p) I'm honoured. Thank you! And thank you to Karen for the heads-up! Now, off to check out some of the other faves, quite a few of which made their way onto my faves this week, too...

wow, roxie! thanks so much for mentioning my card, for taking a peek and for leaving a comment. if you did already leave one, maybe it got edited along with my picture, aka a red x. also, thanks to karen for sending me the link to this thread.
You know, for 2 weeks I have been seeing the "dread red" (the X thumbnail...just occasionally, but it was there. Then late this week it has gotten to be about 60% of the thumbnail spaces are "dread red". The worst part about that? WHAT HAVE I MISSED? (LOL!)
Isn't anyone else going to post favorites? I know I didn't catch all the fabulous CAS cards this week.....
Thank you so much for posting my card! It totally made my day! And can anyone post favs in this thread? If so, I didn't know that, but will try to going forward.
Before I list my favourites, I just want to ask LateBlossom a question - where do we put Sunday cards? In other words, is the week we're selecting from Sunday to Monday?
I didn't get many made this week as it's gardening season but I sure saw a lot I liked when I checked the CAS gallery. Lots of beautiful orange birthday cards for Miss Boo, among many other things.

Thank you so much for mentioning my card! What a lovely thing to come home to after a weekend away. (Picking up *cough* a few *cough* crafting supplies shipped to a friend in Vermont.)

OH. MY. GOSH. LateBlossom liked my card!! I am beyond flattered - and so thrilled! I think May is going to be a wonderful month!!! Thanks, Susan! I think visiting your blog daily is helping the mojo.

Carly, anyone at all can post to this thread. My mama always said, "The more the merrier!" She also said, "Include everyone in your play!"
As far as my definition of a week...I was thinking Sunday through Saturday night favorited on the following Sunday. BUT...no one's hand will EVER be slapped for posting on this thread regardless of date of the favorite.
I'm all about inclusion and warm fuzzies, and if anyone takes time to share a CAS card on this thread, well, by golly, I'm just tickled pink!

Wow, thanks Susan and Fionna for mentioning my card! I am very flattered to be included among such talented artists! And thanks K Dunbrook, for letting me know!!
I LOVE this card...the layout is simple..the design is clean...the image is priceless and the coloring looks like a million bucks! There is a little more detail than what I would typical say is a CAS card...but I just see clean and simple when I look at it. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
