I use 6x6 paper to make 6x6 scrapbook pages ( I faith book, and its the perfect size!). Have been making lots of square cards these days - so I just have to trim a little. And for A2 size - trim and then use the scraps somewhere on my card.
I think the smaller pattern works better for cardmakers. A lot of the time the larger 12" papers have huge designs, so when it's cut down to card size, most of the pattern won't show.
Yep, it's the perfect size for cards! Usually, the 12x12 papers have patterns that are too large on a small card, but with the 6x6 size, the patterns are scaled down! Love them
I like it because you can cut one piece as a panel for your card and the leftover strip works great for an accept piece for another card. Plus, I agree that most 6X6's are scaled down patterns, perfect for cards and home decor.

I love them ~ If I use 12x12 sheets I have lots of pieces left over that usually sit in my scrap basket for ages. With 6x6 I can use almost all of it on one or two cards and no waste to get tired of looking at.

I try to stick to buying 6 x 6 only, and it's usually BasicGrey. The smaller scale does make it nice for cards. Plus by only buying 6 x 6, it prevents me from spending loads of money on impulse buying.
I also sometimes use the patterned paper mat stacks. They're either 6.5" x 4.5" or 7.5" x 5.5", so there is very little waste. And the larger mat stacks fold in half for nice little tag cards.
I pretty much ONLY buy 6x6 now. I use it for my scrapbook pages, ATCs, cards, altered art, EVERYTHING! They are perfect, and I have drawers and drawers full of 6x6. Definitely my favorite size of paper.

Artist Trading Card. Kind of like the baseball cards of paper crafting. Sort of like a calling card for the artist. I haven't made any yet, but I've seen some that are quite beautiful. If you search ATC in the gallery you will see some very nice examples of the artwork.
Pretty much what everyone else said. There are 6" albums, which are wonderful for gift albums and easy to store.
The manufacturers that use the smaller patterns make the paper easy to use for cards or even for those who make dollhouse items/walls.
It is wonderful to have a size that you don't have to use a whole letter or 12" paper for a small piece of pattern.
Leftover pieces from cards can be border punched, used on other cards, or used to punch for accents.
If it is double sided, you have two use choices and it is also great for folding back to show the two designs, for example as a square x cut and the sides folded back to make a window or just folding up one corner.
Can be used on the larger 8", letter, or 12" layout rather than cut down a larger sheet.
Well, I've had this pack here for almost two months and it's just sitting there. I can't make a card base and I'm not sure how to best cut it for accents so I don't waste it.
So instead, I waste it by letting it sit there unused.
Artist Trading Card - pint sized works of art on a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" foundation (think playing cards or baseball cards). They can be stamped, hand drawn, stickers, digital images, collaged, painted, inked, etc. Basically as long as you stick to the size format you're all set...the skys the limit.

As far as what to do with them - many people collect them like trading cards or baseball cards while others incorporate them into scrapbook pages, on cards, tags, etc.
Since they are so small they are a quick way to satisfy your creative muse when you don't have a lot of time.

You can also do a 6 x 6 page and then slap it on a 12 x 12 page...it's called progressive scrapping. Kind of cool. I just do my 6 x 6 page as the main focal point and then embellish the 12 x 12 a little after I put it on there!
You can make a smaller card base with 6x6. I like the finished size 3x6 cards -- they're quick and easy. If the pattern's not too big and bold on the inside of the card (or if the paper's printed on only one side, leaving the inside of your card blank) this will work.
Or you can make even smaller 3x3 cards! These are great on gifts or gift bags.
I have found myself buying so many more of the 6x6 pads than ever before. They take up so much less room and the pads are not so expensive for an entire collection.

Chautona, do you use patterned paper on cards already? You just use the 6x6 the same way you would use a largish scrap from an letter sized paper or a 12x12 paper.
First step: choose a piece of the paper that you like. Second step : choose a matching plain cardstock (or white). Third step: decide what size card you want to make. Fourth step: choose your image/sentiment or whatever. Fifth step: Most Important one: cut the darn paper! lol. Have fun. It's only paper and you got it to use, so use it! And let us see a picture of your first creation if you can. Good luck. You can do this.
