PTI stamps in SU cases
I was wondering if anyone is using the SU clear mount cases for their PTI stamp sets? If you are, I had a few questions:
(1) can you fit two small sets ($5 or $15 sets) into one case?
(2) how/where do you attach the PTI index labels & image sheets?
(3) is it worth the expense and trouble or should I just stick with the free jewel cases?
Hope these aren't silly questions. I'm just wondering if I should bother to order stacks of cases. I was thinking that have all my clear & clear mount stamps in the same sized cases would make for easier storage but know that the SU cases aren't exactly cheap if you need a lot of them.

I've been thinking about the same thing too. I'm not crazy about the jewel cases their stamps come in. Plus they do sell extra labels....
I would be interested to hear if others have done this yet.

I just dug out a few of my PTI sets in the cd cases, and a SU dvd case. I put a $24 set and a $5 set in one dvd case. Or 2 $15 and a $5. There is quite a bit of room in the dvd case.
I tend to agree that I would want all my sets in matching storage. If you are buying everything in clear polymer or unmounted rubber, I would want the dvd cases too. I don't like the cd cases. The other option would be Univenture binders. If you search the forums here for Univenture, you will find a few people who use them and LOVE them. There is LOTS of storage in each one!
As for labels...a couple of threads have some templates for making inserts like the SU ones:

That is probably what I would do, rather than buying another set of PTI sticker labels.

HI!
YES!! I LOVE my PTI stamps in SU DVD cases.. I redid all mine already.
You can get atleast 2 sets in a case.. for instance..
In one dvd case I have On my Couch, On my couch additions AND Charished...
I created a dvd case cover and just copied and paste the sets image from the site. So when slide the printed label under the overlay of the dvd case.. It says on the spine which sets it is..
I think it is WAY worth it.. I was able to take 35 pti sets, alot of them $24 and $25 sets and combine it down to just 16 DVD cases..
Let me see if I took a pic.. I just had evertyhing packed up for a move.. grrr..
OK I found some pics..

Now here is the shelf where all my stamps are.. I had purchased a year ago the univenture binders for my rubber stamps.. I dont care for store clear ones in them.. its hard to see and to many in one case for me.. So I use the binders for specific companies.. and the su dvd cases for current SU and PTI or other clear stamps. HTH

Wow Jennifer. I'm truly impressed. Your PTI case looks better than the SU inserts. I think I'm going to make the leap. I was just wondering if the images on the On My Couch case were from the website? I tried copying and pasting but when I try to enlarge the image, it gets all blurry. If you happen to have the template saved, could you post it here?

Hiya!
Yeah PTI has the copyright info pasted into the page.. so the only way getting around that on a pc is to do print screen and then paste that in paint or another program. I just recently purchased a Mac so its a different way.. Sorry to say I dont have any of them saved.. because I did so many of them.. i was just making them and printing them.. then onto the next one. Hindsight I should have probably saved them.. LMBO
If you have any other questions or cant get it to work.. let me know and I can make up one for you

How do you buy empty cases? I looked at the site and I don't see anything under products.

SU was selling them in the Occasions Mini; I didn't see them in the new Summer Mini but I am assuming they will be in the new large catalog coming this summer.
Check with a demo if you can get them now, I'm not sure. I hope they will be available because I was thinking of getting some so I could start to unmount my stamp sets.

The clear mount stamp cases are on page 6 of the Summer Mini under the acrylic blocks. If you want to order them on-line, they are item #119105 and come in a set of four. You can order them now since they were in the Spring Mini that's ending soon. I'm expecting to see them in the new big catty released in July.

Thanks, I found them and order some this evening. Lucky me this was the last day to order them. Thanks so much for the help. I have been ill for the last 6 months and out of the loop. Lots of new and exciting things going on in the stamping world. So happy that I can enjoy it again.

I was reading about the SU blank cases and thought...kind of expensive if you have to order a bunch of them. I checked out Uline's on line and ordered 100 dvd cases which came to a total of $50.00 with shipping. I don't need 100 (I don't think-lol) since I also use CD cases, but it worked out cheaper than buying the SU cases or blank cases ($10 for a 10 pack) in my local office supply stores. I took one of my dvd cases before ordering on line to see if I could successfully cover the circle thing with cardstock or heavy paper so that I could use the cases for storing my stamps before ordering/buying them. It worked. I just cut out a piece of light weight construction paper and glued it to that side of the case. I used two way tape on the paper so that stamps stick and it works just fine. Might eventually have to replace the tape but that's no big deal. I'm still in the process of unmounting (what fun - NOT) and thought the DVD cases would work well for my larger stamps. I stamp an index sheet with all the stamps stored in that case and put it on the other side of the DVD. I'm also keeping a list (numerically not by type) of what is in each CD/DVD so I won't have to look through all of them to find what I'm looking for. I also found that if you put your stamps in the freezer for 24 hours, it makes it so much easier to get the stamp off. Some are still a royal pain in the butt but most come off easily. Also have a little helpful hint regarding two way tape. First let me say how much I HATE two way tape. The tape itself isn't the problem but pulling the paper off (Scotch brand) is way too time consuming. I can never pull it off easily and it just gets on my nerves. So, I tried using the sticky paper on the lint rollers. What I did was pull off a sheet and then just folder two ends a little bit so it sticks to the cd case. It almost totally covers the CD case and I can just place the stamps on it and be done. Much faster than that two way tape. Probably works out cheaper too since you can usually pick the lint rollers up in the dollar store.

I got in a hurry and just put the PTI case into the SU case. Works for me.

LorraineBK..instead of construction paper would it work to use a transparancie so the stamps would just stick to that? It seems like it would work. I use the clear DVD type cases for a lot of my stamps and just love them.
blessings.
