Need help learning to color and shade. I am a visual learner, and need more than a tutorial to view. Does anyone know of any classes. I am in the Louisville, Ky. area. I am so envious of the wonderful coloring and shading I am seeing on cards posted. Thanks, Phyllis
Hi. There is an upcoming class in Indianapolis. It's open 1st to stores and designers, but if there is room I think they always open the class to the general public. Here's the info.

I tried taking classes at a local card store but they cram so much in and with a large class you can walk away with no information.
I am a huge fan of Suzanne Dean (Scrap Bitz) and her coloring. She started online Copic classes (videos) and I am finding them wonderful. I have learned so much already that makes sense, finally!

Definitely try Suzanne's classes online. I am taking her Advanced Class and I think it is wonderful. I have taken other classes in person and online and this one provides an amazing amount of information and you have a year to take the class online. That is right, a whole year!

Thank you for mentioning this! Could you tell me, does she do the same things that she has videos for on you tube? Do you think it's worth $45? I would love to take this class if it is highly recommended!
I am trying to find the time to work my way through the first level and already I have learned something. The way she explains the colour numbers and families has finally made sense. I am glad I have spent the money and I most definitely will be taking the rest of the lessons.
They are basically the same way she does her You Tube/website videos but, in much greater detail.

I think it's well worth the money. I wasn't going to take the first class, since I've had and been using my markers for quite a while now; however, I felt I could use help with shading which is covered in the first class. Let me say, that video in itself it awesome. She shows wonderful tips and techniques that is so worth it, and that's in the first part of the class. Also, you have a year to complete them, and you can go back and watch the videos over and over. She has emails, chats, photo review of your homework, she's great and generous with her time.....highly recommend them!!!
Yes I agree, the level of detail in Suzanne's class videos blows away everything else I have ever seen. Each video in class 3 is about 30 minutes of detailed instruction and there are about 14 videos...you also get pdfs to go with the videos. well worth the price.
I plan to take the "Everything Copic!" class taught by Colleen Schaan at My Creative Classroom http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com/ in April. She also teaches a Coloring Technique class there. It's on-line videos, hand outs and chat room/gallery. The class is $40 and they repeat several times a year in case you miss out!
I too am taking Suzanne's classes and it is well worth the money for sure. I originally signed up for the intermediate and realized pretty quickly I should have started at beginner so signed up for that one. I've been working on this class and it is very imformative and detailed. Suzanne has done a great job with the videos.

Cool Cricut Classes!...I need a 101 class. I can't use my Cricut. I gave up on it long ago...it sits in the garage on a shelf...with all its little cartridge babies.
Thanks for the info on Suzanne's class. I wish I would have thought of checking here first for additional information. I just paid $120 to take an 8 hour Copic workshop and become certified, I hope is worth it, because shading is my biggest issue and I sure need help coloring.

OMG, the shading itself in the Class 1 is so worth it! I know I said this before, but I really mean it....the way she explains the shading is awesome!!! And, you can replay the videos again and again if you need to. She's so good and she does Chats, you can email her, that lady gives and gives again!!, not to mention critiquing your homework. She's great...... I could go on, but you get the idea.

i did sign up for class 3 to see her methods and hope to have time to actually do it in the next couple weeks....
