I am thinking about upgrading from the baby bug to the Expression machine, but would really like to get the best deal I can. I've been trying to win one at a good price on ebay, but have yet to learn how to be that final winning bid.
So tell me: where did you buy your expression and how much did you pay?
I purchased mine at AC Moore store for $309. Came with 4 cartridges, sticky mat and package of 4 Primary color markers. Of course the power cord and blade/housing came with it.
I feel I got a super deal since no shipping and I got to take it home with me and had lots to work with right away.
Going price for the same now is a bit higher, but I still feel it's a good deal.
I saw somewhere online was the expression, the blk/whi polka dot rolling tote, tool kit and a mat for $350ish...I think. I'm not wanting to spend that much, then again, I know I'll have to get a bag eventually too. so many options. I'm still watching stuff on ebay and hoping for a good deal. I even looked on craigslist for Las Vegas and only one for sale right now, and she's FIRM on her price and it's used.
I got my Cricut Expression for $188 at Wal-Mart last year on Black Friday. IDK if you're willing to wait that long, but I assume they will have a similar deal this year!
Can't remember where or how much but it was from an ebay seller. I just went to ebay, Cricut Expression, Buy Now and checked the prices and looked for free shipping. I like to buy just the item I want and don't go for the bundles. I do alot of research before purchasing. By the time I am ready to buy, I know what accessories I'll purchase. Many of the bundles are a good price but I know I won't use some of the including items. (example: I don't have or make for really young children so don't need the Hello Kitty or Disney fonts, etc.)
Do a internet search because there are also good online stores that have reasonable prices.
Good luck. I upgraded from the Create because I needed a larger format to make envelopes/boxes and am glad I did.
i got mine from HSN for 379.95. In addition to the machine and mat it also included 4 full content cartridges, 2 solution cartridges, spatula, 5 basic markers, 5 primary markers, Jukebox and Design Studio.
The HSN deals I've seen are the best value of all. However, when I was upgrading from the original C to the CE, I didn't need the markers, etching cream, etc. Plus, I didn't want the cartridges that came with the machine (at the time). I did lots of research and purchased mine from Hallmark Scrapbook online. I paid $269 and got free shipping. It came with Plantin Schoolbook and Accent Essentials. I received it within a week. Now Hallmark Scrapbook's deals are even better. Good luck with your decision, and have fun with your Cricut!
Also when deciding be sure and look at bundles. It might be worth it to spend a little more $$ to get carts that are only available in that bundle or that you don't already have. Good luck!
My first Expressions was bought at HallmarkScrapbook. This is a favorite vendor with many of the Cricut MB girls. Trying not to sound like an elitist. I am not affiliated with them at all. I can highly recommend them. I got my Expressions when it first came out and I paid $250 and received three carts. There is always a good bundle deal going on over there.
Second Expressions (1st one blew up on me a few months ago) I bought from the infomercial deal. I really wouldn't recommend going this route. It was perfect for me because I wanted that Potpourri cartridge.
Another place I recommend is HSN. You can get the best deals from HSN. I bought a Cricut Create there a couple of months ago too. My Baby Bug broke the same time my Expressions did. Don't ask, lol.
Man! I was about to ask about that! $150 is like the perfect on there. I was so close to getting one for $165 but someone beat me to it. Wondering if it's worth to bid on stuff that ends in the middle of the night and there's less people bidding in that last 60 seconds. I might end up waiting a little while longer. I'd love to upgrade, but June is coming quickly and I'll have to do my new catalog pre-order with SU at that time (I'm a demo).
I'll def be stalking craigslist all summer hoping for a good deal. The last time I was at the LSS for a cricut class one of the girls came in and said she'd seen 3 of the colored ones (green, dk blue, red) at the goodwill store for $150, NIB!!!! The store owner asked if they were still there cause she said she'd buy them for that price, give one away at a crop and sell the other two for the same she paid, but they were gone. It was suspected that they went to ebay.
Dang it...I told myself I was going to wait and then I bid on another one! found that "one click bid" button. NOW I know why I was having trouble in that last few minutes of bidding. I got one for 182.50, free shipping. I'll probably wait awhile on getting a bag though.

I was lucky enough to buy the Expression at a flea market last year with 1 cart, mats, blades, and all the paper work for $90. The best scrappin' purchase I ever made!
I bought my Cricut Expressions in November 2008 during Black Friday for $199. And then in last year's Black Friday, Walmart was selling it for $189 (they even had different colors like black, blue, green and red, which made me mad). If you're willing to wait 'til November, the price might go lower than that. But if not, Oh My Crafts would be my option 2. They have the best deals in Cricuts and cartridges and they ship pretty fast. I just got the Gypsy from them for $175 including shipping.
