Default # of cards and how many designs per set??

I'm making note cards/gift card sets as Christmas gifts. I'm soooo very new at this and this will be my first time to give them as gifts. How many cards do y'all usually place in a set...three or four or what?? Also, do you only place one design per gift set or several designs in a set? Do you make coordinating envelopes to match the cards?? Thanks so much for your input. I have a five day weekend to "play" with my stamps and work on getting some of the gifts made.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I normally do multiples of four... some times I do four all different, four of the same, eight to the set with two differnt designs or four different designs... it just seems to be balanced that way.
Also for the giving part...I always stamp a corresponding image on the bottom left of the envelope and tie the set together with all the envelopes to the back and use a nice ribbon that matches the card!

I pack them in two for every occasion so they don't have to run to the store on Mother's Day or what ever Holiday it is. They are big packages but my 2 SILs love them. I make only 3 .Every family get a different set in case they send it to each other. And the envelopes to match... of course

Thank you for the ribbon suggestion!! I hadn't even thought about how to package it. I have sooo much to learn.

My MIL asked me to make sets of cards for her to give to her friends for Christmas. She requested two each of five different designs and insisted on paying me $20 a set. I thought that was a bit pricey since she IS my MIL and I'm not looking to make any money off of her, so I added another design for twelve cards total. I also stamped a corresponding image in the bottom left corner of the envelope. I will let her package them how she likes. HTH.

If you are making them for family, like grandmothers who are on a limited budget, you might want to include stamps on the envelopes. I also printed return address labels for my grandmother. She was very grateful.

Just a thought.
