AKA BROADWAY!! I absolutely LOVE musical theater. If only I were amazingly talented I would be starring there RIGHT NOW (yeahyeahyeah!). Anyway, I thought it would be fun today to make cards inspired by our favorite musicals. For years my favorite musical has been Joseph and the Amazing Techincolor Dreamcoat (I have seen it on stage SEVEN times!!! TWICE with Donny Osmond be still my 1970s teenage heart!!!) That show has had to share the #1 spot as of the past two years with my OTHER favorite WICKED!! I think that is the only soundtrack I have EVER memorized before I had EVEN seen the show!! (I have since seen it on stage TWICE!!).
Soooo . With that in mind there are TWO requirements:
1. Make a card inspired by a favorite musical
2. The cards MUST be any size and/OR shape that is NOT A2, or standard size
Thats it!! Have fun!!!
Keep in mind that your creations are INSPIRED by a favorite musical and don't have to actually look like they stepped straight out of it (like "South Pacific"? Then do something with a tropical theme! "Cats"?? A card with a kitty on it will work ... just let your imaginations go with it!!).
And if the only musicals you have ever seen have been on TV?? GO FOR IT!! I started watching musicals on TV as a little girl loooonnnnggg before I EVER saw a stage production live and in person!!
Still STUMPED??? Here's a link to a website with a list of musicals that may help:
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Youre done!
I'm right there with you on Wicked!! I listen to the cd constantly and loved the musical. I would see it again and again. Going to Broadway next week, we have tickets for Billy Elliott.

Like you Wendy, I really like "WICKED". I like many musicals, but I happened to save the Playbill from this show and decided to cut it up for this challenge. Hope it isn't cheating! I did add some glitter. I may get a chance to do another card for another one of my favorite shows.
Sorry, Wendy, I was so engrossed in remembering the many musicals that I love that I totally forgot we were NOT to use an A-2 size card. :-( Will post MY CARD anyway, though I deserve 10 lashes with a wet noodle. You said we should have fun and I did!

Oh cool, this sounds like fun, fun fun. I loved Joseph too - still have an old vinyl record from the seventies, as well as an easier-to-listen-to CD. Hmmm, My Fair Lady is probably my favourite, if I can think how to make a card. Seven Brides and Gigi come to mind too, as I'm planning to rewatch Gigi tonight while DH is away. I'll be back after work, hopefully I'll have come to a decision by then .
Thanks for such a fun idea.
Love the cool challenge, Wendy!
I adore the music from "Grease" .... rockin' & rollin'! So here's my jukebox, specially designed for playing those oldies! ;)
AWESOME challenge! I LOVE musicals!!!!! In fact we watch one almost daily in my house, LOL! Even my 7, 10 and 12 year old BOYS watch them with me. Yesterday it was State Fair, so I may use that one as my inspiration for today's card ....that is unless I watch a different one. I may have to pop in Singin' in the Rain today since the boys and I were singing the songs through Wal-mart yesterday, LOL! Can't wait to play!

I have reported the problem on the "troubleshooting" thread. I am sure it is related to the site migration ... sigh ... I HATE being patient!! :S Hang in there, friends!!
I thought this was a very thought-provoking challenge, Wendy. I wnted to do another card where I did more than just "cut & pasted". I chose a favorite opera of mine.....it really is a musical! It's got it all...music, solos, dancing, sets. orchestra, costumes, etc!
The SCS Team is aware of the probably with the gallery uploads and is working on it ... which, I guess, means that we still have to be patient (darn it!) ...
This was a lot of fun to think about!! I'm afraid I had to stretch things a bit, I hope that my post adequately explains how I was inspired by my favorite musical. Here it is:

Is a room somewhere...with a great big chair...lots of chocolates for me to eat. I do have a chocolates stamp sitting on my desk, but went with the chair.
Such a fun challenge this was, wish I'd had time to do more than one card.
This was really a challenge for me...not so much the musical, but card shape. I dont do square, round, or any others...so feel privileged I played--LOL
