What is the "most wanted" SU set?
This is a spin off of the "what is your most coveted retired SU set" thread... I know that there are a few "really wanted" sets like Girl Power and Tractor Time.... what do you think is the "most wanted" retired SU set of all time?

For me - I'd love a Wonderful Wings set. Should have bought it before it retired.

The most wanted set is probably the set that has been available the longest. I don't have a catty handy, but there are some that have been around forever. I'm guessing they keep them in the catty because they are high sellers....

Love Bakes, or that other really old country style one with the hutch. Or the old "Christmas Tree" one that was just the wooden form and then had the different "ornaments" for the different holidays.

I have tried for months to get What's Brewin! I finally got it off ebay yesterday. I am sooooo excited! I like it better than the coffee one in the catty now- express yourself.

I would love to get hold of both paisley print and harlequin! I watch ebay but forget to bid on them when i find them... or worse, won't spend the $$ on them because it means less $$ towards my orders.. lol

One I had to go to EBay for was Stained Glass. But it seems like almost everyone I know has Bold Butterfly and/or Stipple Butterfly; they are versatile and easy to use.
Loads of love is a great set too. You can just do soooo much with that set. I've put birds on a wire over it (doing what birds do over a vehicle lol Gallery at Splitcoaststampers ) and my sis put it up on blocks with rust spots! ( Gallery at Splitcoaststampers ) and you can put the regular things in the back like a christmas tree, i've put the beach chair and umbrella from on the beach in it, and my DS has gone to the extreme of putting a giraffe in the back.
And if you gave me another hour i could come up with more. lol

For me it was finding SNOW GLOBE, MANYTHANKS, MUSICAL MELODY and the retired 2002-2003 GINGERBREAD CHRISTMAS sets. I have many retired sets I have gotten off of Splitcoast and Ebay. But those were the most important sets, as CHICKEN WIRE was the most important background stamp to find.
For my sis, she fell in love with STELLA STAMPER, BUTTON and BOW BEARS. Those she managed to find, but still is hunting for BUTTON/BOW ACCESSORIES.
I often see SNOW GLOBE, STELLA STAMPER, TRACTOR TIME going for outrageous prices.
The only other retired one I REALLY want at this time is GODSPEED. But I do keep a list of retired stamps I would someday like to find.
I managed to collect SU catalogs 2000-2001, 2001-2002, 2002-2003 (the first I ever owned); 2003-2004; 2004-2005; and the current 2005-2006. This way I have something to refer to when stamps are sold as well as dream up lists of retired stamps I want. And then the biggest bonus of actually having all these neat ideas to look at.

I agree it would be wolf. This set is so awesome. Not that I would ever actually want it, just know of a ton of people looking for it.

on the go/ tractor time
I did the big no-no and broke down and got tractor time off e-bay. We just wont tell the hubby. I usually try not to buy from there but, for the most desired sets it seems to be the only way to get them.
The only one I don't have now that I REALLY want is on the go. Thats on e-bay to but, I spent to much for tractor time so I have to try and find a great deal for this one.

I know Hope For Comfort is asked for alot. One of the few retired's I have hung on to.
I don't want it, but I know Dreams and Dragons always sells well on the 'bay.

I had a friend come to a stamp camp a few years back, bought wolf "just to be nice" not a stamper, gave it to me some time later, I TRADED it here for hedgies.......after she started stamping with me a few times a year, I had extreme guilt and got it back from ebay for almost 45. Grrrrrrr.
Meanwhile, I have this set that I HATE. and could probably trade for something good, and can't now out of guilt.

I girl at work just came into me and say "Hope Is..." is going for over 40.00 on ebay. Yikes! I have this set and never use it maybe I could get in on that action too.
Disneywed.... I would never feel guilty about getting rid of a set I never used or wanted to have. You must be a better person than I, cuz I would NEVER rebuy a set for that price. I will take a pic of a card I got with Wolf maybe you will be able to use it for some cards.

A few years back (I want to say about 3-4), SU had this big anniversary celebration where they brought back their top 12 "most requested" sets and reintroduced a "new" one every month. I only remember a few (chore chart, dreams & dragons). But I remember thinking - why did people want XYZ - how could that be all that popular?

Art of Life
... and why did they have to retire Wonderful Wings? I love that set.
Most wanted set of all time? Well, I suppose sales on the bay would tell you that. A few years ago it was Dreams and Dragons and the Stella Stamper or something like that. When SU brought them back for the 15th anniversary I bought them both. But they are just sitting there. I've used them like maybe once. Maybe I should sell them and get some money to use in the spring mini! Home and Hearth was going for a lot last year. Dollhouse was too. I don't know what the popular one is now.
