Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites for the Week Ending March 21, 2010
Hello! It's so good to be back and to have had time this week to surf the gallery! Many, many thanks to Cindy (KY Southern Belle) for starting last week's thread while I got baby time with my new nephew. Also, many thanks to those of you who expressed your sympathy over my dog's recent cancer diagnosis. Y'all are just wonderful.
For those who've never been to this thread, welcome! You're invited to jump right in and participate by posting links to your Clean and Simple Favorites from the past week's gallery uploads and by leaving comments on the cards other people link to. This thread is all about the beauty of clean and simple designs.
I'll go first. There was so much beauty in the gallery this week! Some of these cards I'm listing had NO comments before I commented, so if you have a bit of time today, please give these wonderful artists some love.
girlgeek101's kraft gracias card is oh so lovely with a pretty ribbon and dimensional butterfly
snail's adorable bunny basket shows that you can spend hours working on a CAS card...and still keep the design clean because it's all about the detail
katolejnik also used great detail and lots of white space on her simple one-of-a-kind card; she also posted this perfect owl card; and this one-layer hello card
LaLatty created her own background paper with a sweet little egg stamp
bonnierose used paper piecing to make a notecard set that totally rang my bell (or phone, as it were!)
ceedee took the butterfly grid card to a whole new level with some amazingly textured white deckled cardstock, beautiful patterned paper, and one perfectly placed bling
desertpearl quoted Jeremiah 29:11 on a lovely card that uses twine perfectly
whats_her_name posted a masculine card with masterful use of color and twill
BethanyPaull made a totally adorable Going Green card with a very minimalist strip of DP and a happy little caterpillar
angelahath posted my all-time favorite use of inspiration (I'm a total English-major geek, folks!) for a card with her clean and graphic birthday card inspired by an English handbook!
lawnfawncards posted this pink retro-ish, "you're sew lovely" card that jumped into my favorites all by itself
lnl96's Happy-O-Meter card made me very happy indeed because it's so masterfully pulled together and perfect!
wiggydl used one felt egg and a simple sentiment to make a bold CAS statement simply amazing
Heather T used an unexpected layout with Nature Silhouettes to make her fab background completely pop off the card
fionna51 showed how CAS perfection can happen without any stamping at all on her cute tree card; her hostss club card is also DA BOMB!
biggan's card is amazing beyond words...just go look at it and prepare for your jaw to drop; and this one, too
happy2stamp4ever kept her thankful turtle clean and simple and perfect on natural cardstock
ltecler made a lucky card that is absolutely pretty in green and brown with a button on top
hiinaz used top note and a fresh and fun color scheme on her Just because card
hobbydujour used Through the Trees and a brayer to make her FAB just-a-note card
lisaadd also used Through the Trees for a very different look on her crisp and clean card
pam124 used a totally radical butterfly on her pretty and feminine FS162 card
Now it's your turn: what were YOUR CAS favorites this past week!
I haven't had as much time as usual in the gallery this week, but I will be updating the faves on my blog today. Here are a few I've seen so far. Thanks to everyone for linking your faves.
Thanks, Susan, for mentioning my card! You have made my day!...and a dreary, rainy one it is here! You gave me some sunshine! Thank you! I appreciate it!
Thanks for mentioning my card, Susan! You sure brightened up this suffering from a cold on a dreary rainy day, gal! (thanks to Karen too, for letting me know!)
Thanks so much, Shellied, for mentioning my Shamrock card in this week's CAS favs! And a big thank you to you too, Karen (k dunbrook), for taking the time to bring the great news to my attention. You're great!

Awww...thanks so much for the mention of my Glittery Thanks card! It's one of my fave techniques for giving a CAS card a little extra somethin'! You've made my night - thanks so much!!
Thank you so much to LateBlossom and shellied for mentioning my cards! I haven't had much time or mojo lately for making cards, so it feels good to be getting back into the swing of things!
A lot of my faves for this week have already been listed, but I don't think these have been mentioned yet:
Hey there -
First off, many thanks (again) to Susan for mentioning my very English-friendly card -- you made my day!
So many lovely cards this week! Here are a few I've found: this -- great use of texture from girlgeek101 this super-cute bubblegum machine from keuby,
and this and this from Ms. Lateblossom herself -- a mushroom and a kitty (how can one go wrong?)
Keep up the excellent work, everyone!
I was so sad that my computer crashed yesterday. My husband had to rebuild it. I missed this thread. I hope it's not too late to add my favorites and for you to go visit and comment on them.
