Holly pm'd me this afternoon, asking if I would host today's challenge for her. She had to make an unexpected trip to take her auntie to the hospital and did not get to make a sample for the theme she had chosen, "Very Vintage." (say a prayer for 'em!) She knew that I have been making cards with OCL's Vintage Roses, so she asked me for help. I, in turn, asked for support from my friend, Wendy!

Thanks so much Deb for filling in for Holly. Keeping her and her aunt in my prayers.
So, the challenge is just to make a vintage card? I'm not sure if I have ever done anything like this before. What can I do to make a card look more "vintage"?
Carol YOU ARE VINTAGE because according to the dictionary vintage means: excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic. ;)
Hehehe! We were laughing at church last night about how gray-haired men look distinguished and women look OLD. This definition for vintage sounds so much better!
I wasn't going to stamp.. wasn't going to do a challenge today at all... but darn it.. I love vintage and had pieces laying on my table that I just had to vintage up so here are BOTH of my cards!
I don't do vintage ever so this was a great challenge. Thanks Deb. I am going to try another one to see if I can go even deeper into the vintage category. For now, here is my first attempt.
Hi Lynn! To me, vintage means crocheted lace, distressed/inked edges, old-fashioned images, linen/canvas/muslin textures...
Thanks Deb. I needed some more clarification. I used none of that in my first card because I don't reallly know how to do vintage but I am working on my second card to try to really "get" it better. I don't have any lace but I am going to use some of your other suggestions and try again.

I decided that usually I try too hard with vintage because it's not me. So today I tried not to try too hard, and am happier with what I achieved.
Thanks for stepping in, Deb, and I've been thinking of Holly and her aunt. Vintage Rose
Thanks, Deb, for filling-in for Holly. We all appreciate it! This is a style that is REALLY a challenge for me. I did struggle today to come up with something.
Good morning. Here's my card for this challenge with a few others combined in the description. It's 75 here and I'm going to be putting on my gardening gloves as soon as I get this posted. Thank you for looking, God bless, and YAY! Spring is finally here!
This will come in handy this week as I need to make two cards for friends who are around my age, and nearing the 'vintage' designation. I'm sure they will smile at the images! Rhea Vintage Birthday

Since I found my stash of vintage papers (can't remember where I got them, or who made them, but I've had them 10 years or better), I could go on making vintage cards forever. This one is for my daughter who won't remember when, but she is an avid cyclist. Remember when?
