I completely understand that advertisements help pay for this site but that being said I am really not happy that there are ads on the front page plus now one of them is a pop up ad for IQ testing.
What's particularly annoying about that IQ testing is that it's a scam to get your cell number, and charge you $9.99 a month for ringtones or games......and lots of people do not read the fine print. Hate that.

Post the link or screen capture and Daven will track it down. They did a good job of getting rid of all those popups that we had a couple of months ago that were so annoying. Actually - those were roll-over ads - such a pain.
On the front page of SCS, I noticed for the first time tonight an ad for 'Global Photographer search' with a photo of Naomi Campbell presented by "Steve's Digicams" and was on the top RH side next to the 'Welcome to Splitcoaststampers' heading. Never seen that ad before.
I did a right click with my mouse and copied the link - hope this is what you are after so you can track it down & obliterate it.
Thanks for all that you are doing in regard to this problem - it is much appreciated.
I'm getting that same ad on the Home page as JoBear2 in the previous post (#6). I keep deleting my internet files and my cookies but the very next time I visit SCS, it's still there. Is anything being done about this ad?
Just brought up my own Gallery, and at the bottom is an animated ad for 'Be2 - find the love of your life - take the personality test' with a red button that says "click here" which isn't what I would really like to see on SCS - we're not a dating site after all. I right-clicked the ad to copy the link - this is all the stuff it came up - which is a direct link to the website in question :
I also just got a different animated ad at the bottom again when I went back to my Gallery :
"Enter to win a Video iPod or star in your own UR the spokesmen ad" The screen shot of this particular is the attachment below which I saved as Microsoft Word document.
My Firewall is giving me all sorts of warnings when these ActiveX ads load which I haven't had happen on SCS before & I haven't changed any settings on my computer. The Google ads never bring up warnings nor the ads at the top of the screen - just these new ones.
It seems that everytime I "reload" my Gallery or click on other parts of SCS, I am getting a different ad each time - some
Thanks for everything you have been doing to 'search and destroy" the annoying ads Guess there will be a few hiccups with the changeover of ownership.
I had trouble this a.m. I go into the new daily additions when I have my
coffee in the a.m. This morning there was an ad for Dean Health Systems
at the bottom of the page that everytime you went over it to go to the
next page it expanded. I have not had trouble with roll overs in a long time.
It is annoying to have this ad pop up when all I wanted to do was go to
the next page. The site has ran so smoothly for me for a long time now without these problems.
Okay - that was funny! I just submitted my comment about the roll over
ads of Dean Health and it sent me back to the page and guess, what
was on the bottom under my comment.....the rollover Dean Health ad!
That must have been pay back from Dean Health! Ha!!
Was just on the Resources: Tutorials part of SCS and a Bingo-Cafe ad appeared. That's a newie. But I'm not here to play Bingo - just wanting the tutorial to make an Easter basket.
I have attached a copy of the ad as a Word Document, plus HERE is a copy of the link for the ad (if that helps). Thanks for all your work behind the scenes about these ads - it is really appreciated.
What, you don't want to play bingo. Everyone loves bingo. Ok, I guess it's not really on topic. :-) Thanks for the screenshot and link. That really helps.
