I love Papertrey's Stamper's Select White, but I've been trying to switch over to more recycled materials in my crafting. Recently I went to a local paper warehouse and searched for a recycled white that was similar to Papertrey's white. I found a line that I really like called Cougar Digital Choice (Domtar Earth Choice). Their white and natural white (cream) are really, really close to Papertrey's stocks and they're partially recycled, eco-consciously produced, and a portion of their profits are donated to the World Wildlife Foundation.

because I am cheapskate I buy the GP 110 in bulk but I really like the MFT perfect panels. I just wish it came in full size sheets or maybe it does and I just can't find 'em on the site.

I use different white CS for different purposes. Example:

GKD for Copics
SU Whisper White for Prisma Pencils and stamping with SU dye inks when using solid image stamps
PTI white for card base and for stamping with chalk ink and Brillance ink
GP from Walmart if I just need white for layering mats and only 1/4" is going to show (cheapest way to go)

So I have several different purposes.... so I guess the answer is "it depends." Don't you just hate that answer?

I use Hammermill Color Copy Cover in either 60 or 80 lb. It is very Bright white and extremely smooth. I like it because it takes almost nothing to soak through with Copics. It seems smoother to me than the Neenah (which I have a ream of too, and use when I am printing insides of cards on the computers). I layer almost everything, so the lighter weight Hammermill is wonderful for me. Neenah is good too, and if I want a little thicker, I will use it.

From a price point it is much cheaper than the Neenah. I bought them both from If Its paper, and I don't remember the exact price, but the Hammermill was at least half. On Amazon, the Neenah is running around $30 to $36, and the Hammermill is anywhere from $12 to $17.

I use Neenah Classic Crest Smooth in Solar White 80# for stamping - both with Copics and colored pencils and Gamsol. I bought some of Gina K's Pure Luxury 120# CS, and it was amazing. Worked just as good as the Neenah for Copics, but it didn't bleed to the back - pretty amazing! But I go through a lot of paper, so I can't really afford to use that on a regular basis. So I only use that when I'm making one-layer cards with Copics. Hope this helps!

I'm finishing up my Gorgia Pacific. I have a few sheets left, that I'll use to layer. But I just purchased Gina K's luxury, and it's wonderful! I'll continue with it from now on.

TAC's Ultrasmooth
Prisma for Copics

I have PTI's white, but I haven't gotten into it yet.

My favorite all-around white cardstock, for stamping images, and for card bases, is Image Plus by GP. You can find it at Sam's for about $6 for 250 sheets.

It is a nice 110 lb. weight paper, the images stamp crisply, it takes color nicely, and it is a bargain to boot!

I hate to order paper online. I love the security I feel by having a nice stack in my craft room, plus knowing I can run down to Sam's and buy more in a hurry if I need it.

I'm a Georgia Pacific girl for several reasons:

1. It's the cheapest, but not flimsy. (Definitely the #1 reason!)
2. It's heavy enough for card bases, but I can still punch it with my border punches if I want to (not so with the expensive name brand papers out there). I wouldn't want to have to keep track of which paper was which so I wouldn't accidentally break my border punches on PTI or Neenah paper ... but that's just me.
3. It's bright enough for my eyes, and I like the smoothness of it.
4. I can get it locally (i.e. no outrageous shipping charges).

More great replies, Im loving this! I think I might order all the suggestions here and try them all to see which I like best. I can get the Georgia Pacific really easy and I wanted to place another order with PTI anyway. And maybe my first order with Gina K. Yay!

Me too! I'm a GP gal myself. I love how inexpensive it is and I don't feel bad about when I make a mistake and I have to throw some away.

I mostly use Wasau 110# cover stock for colouring and card bases. Its inexpensive and nice bright white and very smooth. Plus its acid free so I can use it in my scrapbooks if I want. I have some SU whisper white that I'm not all that impressed with so very rarely use it - its not very white and its too slippery. I also have Neenah classic smooth avalanche white in 80# & 130#. The avalanche white is the brightest white they make. The 130# is fantastic for card bases and the 80# is great for stamped images and running through my printer for digi stamps. Right now I'm only using pencil crayons and oms. I only have a 12 set of copics and they're all pretty dark colours, so my copic order is on its way from oozak. I'm sure the paper I have will work fine with them as well.

Neenah Solar White and Classic Crest are my fav's - and I do a lot of copic colouring. GP might be great - but it's not available in Canada. Neither is the Neenah Paper - but I purchase it from Ellen Hutson's store - and given the weight of the paper I buy- great shipping prices!

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the C.C. Designs Copic Quality White CS from ATS. It is so smooth and so pretty and thick! It is thicker than my Neenah but when I do digital images, I can't get it to go through my printer like I can with my Neenah. So I have both!

I've used the Neenah Solar White, but I always get feathering when I color with Copics.

I use the GP 110# too. I just got 4 more reams over the weekend and had them cut in half at the Office Max next door to Sams...I love the time it saves to do this.

I use Gina K. Pure Luxury for card bases, and coloring. I use GP for layering because it's pretty flimsy and not very bright (in comparison to Gina K).. but as a layer, no one can tell.

Default Couture Cardstock Detail Blending & One Sheet Wonder

I will say upfront that I may be biased because I work for the company, but at Couture Cardstock we have a product endorsed by Sally Lynn McDonald, Copic Education coordinator, just for Copic markers. It is called the One Sheet Wonder and the alcohol ink does not bleed through the back. It also blends like a dream. Copic uses it in their booth at CHA and in their education classes.

For when I am not using my Copics, I used our Detail Blending Paper. It stamps beautifully and prints Digi images nicely.

Hope this helps!
