I don't disagree with you, and you make good points. If I ran my own business I'd be protecting my goods and bottom line, too. I just hope PTI can find a solution for its non-US fans because we'd love to own their products without hurting our own budgets!

The point i was making with the PTI situation, is that their business choices (adding tracking and insurance) exclude them from utilizing the cheaper forms of mailing when shipping internationally. The only way they can get the price down for international packages is to forgo those protections. As I said, some companies may have decided to take the risks. And yes, that is the actual rates being charged by USPS. They cannot go Fedex or USPS because then Canadians get hit with huge brokerage fees at the border.
