UPDATED 2/19/10: Spring DT Search 2010: Olympic Games Style!
Welcome to the Olympics! Wait, I'm the Spring DT search! This season I'm shaking things up a bit. This has gotten a lot of feedback and discussion from current and alumni DTs, but I'm confident that you'll enjoy the games. ;)
Event #1: Running with the Torch
Everyone who qualifies (get it? hehe) may join in. This is what you need to do (3 Steps):
* Link your 2 favorite CAS challenge cards from (your own gallery) December to current.
* Link your 2 favorite CAS non-CAS challenge cards from (your own gallery) December to current.
* Make one new card choosing any of the former challenges from the past year.
(All of your submissions need to be CAS cards )
As players post their links, I will link them here in the beginning post. You'll see that I've reserved posts for each of the games.
Please post all 5 cards at the same time to make things efficient for me.
You have until Tuesday, February 16 @ 8 PM EST to upload your 5 cards. At that time, I will be narrowing the field for the next level of competition and a challenge will be posted. From there, it is a secret!!
So stay tuned!!!
Now.... I want you to listen to me. This is NOT a popularity contest. As a special ed teacher, I love rooting for the underdog as well as long time stampers. Do NOT assume you are not good enough.
Standard Expectations of a DT member: I need you to post your sample for each challenge on Sunday evening between 10PM-11PM EST. You may miss 1 or 2 weeks do to illness or emergencies. You will be participating in choosing the challenges for the season during your 2nd week as a DT member. The season will begin the first Monday in March. The spring DT starts the first Monday in MArch and end the last Monday in May.
Stay tuned for more exciting games ahead.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Ask questions here, please. I'm getting a lot of the same questions and running out of PM space. I have to run to work, but I'll be back around dinner time.
The field has been narrowed down from 40 to 20 stampers.
If you didn't move into round 2, it's not because you're not a good stamper. There are now a ton of CAS stampers and I want to see you again in the summer. AND.... There will be guest stampers announced in the closing ceremonies too! It's not over yet!!!! ;)
Moving into Round #2 - See Below Event: On the slope Challenge:Make a card inspired by an Olympic sport that uses a slope. (Examples: skiing, Luge)
Please make just one card.
Please have it uploaded by Friday, February 19 @ 8PM EST
It's been an exciting week with so much to see and look forward to! The field has been narrowed once again, this time from 20 to 10 Olympians. These 10 Olympians will make one more card that will need to be posted by Tuesday @ 8PM EST. Our judges are ready! Our viewers are ready!
This group of 10 talented ladies are being challenged to make a CAS card inspired by a "reporter." What do you have to announce to the world? A new baby? A wedding? A birthday party? As mocjen's card said, "The sky's the limit!"
"The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat."
Defeat? You are all winners in my book! And 4 of you, that did not move on to round 3, will soon be receiving a PM from me with an invitation to be a guest designer during the month of April.
* Olympic Games Closing Ceremonies *
Closing ceremonies are scheduled for Wednesday, February 24. Time and place will be announced in post #6 as soon as it is available!

Thanks Nancy! I added your cards to the 1st link. You forgot to add 2 current CAS challenge cards. I chose 2, but you can change them.... no big deal. ;)
I think a couple of people have misunderstood a couple of directions.
* Link your 2 favorite CAS non-challenge cards from (your own gallery) December to current.
Your 2 extra cards must be CAS. They just are not made for the weekly CAS challenge here on SCS. They can be for another challenge or not a challenge at all. But they must be CAS.
Hope that helps. ;)

I changes my submissions.....But I noticed that one of them us older that it should have been so I will make 2 new submissions for tomorrow. Sorry for my mistake.....thanks for letting me know.
Thanks Julie! I've added 3 of your cards to the 2nd post. There were a couple of errors in your links.
I went to your gallery. These were the 1st 2 CAS cards that weren't made for CAS challenges. Please let me know if these will work or there are other cards you would like.
I said I wasn't going to do this again but I'm a glutton for punishment since I'm the Susan Lucci of CAS DT tryouts, but somebody talked me into it ;) And it's a good thing you listened! ;)
The one I really wanted to use is getting published in July's CARDS Magazine from when you were the Featured Stamper Jen! I love brownie points... but the real ones work better. J/K I wish I could remember which card you CASEd. I don't usually buy card magazines anymore, but I'll need to buy the July issue of CARDS!
I almost forgot to say... :p I added your cards to the 2nd post!
************************************************** *******
Do you know that I had to take out 2 smilies to get this to post? I love smilies! But at least I got to keep 4! LOL!
Oh my gosh, Christine! That is too funny... the Susan Lucci of DT tryouts! Susan did eventually win, so your chances are good. I'm just excited that I was even asked!
