Should I scan or use a digital camera?????

I am getting ready to upload cards to the site. My question is, do you have better luck with the clarity of your images if you use a scanner or if you take a digital picture? Also, with whichever method you use, can you recommend any tricks for a clearer image?

All of the images in my gallery are done by taking the digital picture in good daylight. It allows me to not have to use the flash...I have a scanner but it is not hooked up to the new computer yet!
PS Just remember if you are uploading your photos of SU! stamped images you need the (C) Stampin' UP! 1990-2004 somewhere on the post...

Daven posted some pointers on digital camera use there. Good stuff!

I personally prefer my scanner to my digital, but it doesn't really matter as long as your shots are focused, and you crop well before you upload.

OH! And another thing, PLEASE upload things to the correct gallery. You will be able to select a home for your art (in addition to being in your personal gallery) when you upload. We can get your stuff approved so much faster if you put it where it goes the first time!

Whichever one you prefer would be best! (easiest for you to use) Personally, I use a scanner. I know that some cards look better taken with a camera if you need to get certain things in certain angles. But, I like the scanner and for me, it is so much easier.

Thanks so much for your help. The only other question I have is....

What is the simplest way to include the SU! copyright info? If I use a scanner (which is the most likely) do you type the info somewhere on the image???? I can't remember if my scanner has that capability....

If you can't type it...what is the best way to attach that info to the image????

If you use the scanner you can just print out the copyright info on paper ahead and time and place it on the scanner below your image so that you don't have to worry about manipulating or typing it on your image.

I actually prefer using a digital camera so I can take lots of photos quickly!

If you use a scanner, you usually have to import it into some sort of image editing software. If you are a demo, you can get a copyright image from the website, or create one of your own. Then paste it right onto the card image. I use photoshop, and that's what I do.
